I'm a little confused by the pricing of the standard e and the advance model.

there is a £3K difference, from a quick scan this is for the more powerful motor and a few other technical bits and bobs.

is the standard e the one to go for as a city car as it has mostly all of the tech for a 10% less outlay? £26,660.00 + paint is not too bad...

thoughts?

The Corsa Electric is an almost £30k car FFS. Now there's an EV you'd have to be out of your mind to buy despite better range than the Honda.
RRP doesn't matter, just makes lease price look good.

Corsa is about £250 a month.

That would be a good advertising angle.

"Yes it's a bit pricey but have you seen the Corsa Electric"

Just had a quick check on gateway2lease

Corsa E Elite Nav - 36 months 12k miles = £380 a month
Honda E - 36 months 12k miles = £423 a month

The Corsa has better range and the Honda has the better spec.

For £50 a month difference would anyone really take the Corsa?

My other half ordered one at the weekend. It fits her 99% journeys which are <10 miles each way. She likes the looks both inside and out, and while priced quite high, she thinks it's worth it.
My wife did the same three weeks ago - for exactly the same reasons!

She briefly considered the Mini-e (she used to drive an F56 Mini JCW),
but immediately discounted it because "it looks almost exactly the same
as a normal Mini - I want an electric car to look different / cool" (see currently
drives an i3s)

She also loves the (lack of) mirrors as we have a narrow drive/garage door.

So perhaps the Honda-e might be a hit with "the ladies" if Honda can get
their marketing right - perhaps they could use this guy...?

Plenty of better deals on the Corsa-e than £380 / month e.g.

Plenty for less than £430 a month on the Honda E if you happy with a longer deal and fewer miles also. I was comparing 2 identical deals from the same broker as it seemed fairer?

Looks more expensive than the Honda E with matching terms (3 years, 12k miles per year).

You need to take into account the upfront payment and make sure you;re comparing the same terms.

1 + 35, 12k miles a year as per the Corsa and Honda E prices above is £459 a month

I'd pay the extra for it personally. The i3 is a great little car and genuinely ground breaking.

Fair enough but only you knew that it was 1 months initial rental smile

I stated 36 months @ £ per month. wink

I always take the initial and mileage into account as otherwise you end up with people suggesting amazing deals that never really are. A decade of leasing has taught me that much at least. smile

hmmm just caught up on the thread since my last post and regretting it now!

£1k off list already!? We have been waiting to get one since February when we put the funny little deposit down!!! :-(

The car has arrived at the dealer today, picking it up tomorrow...so too late to read any more bad news!

On the plus side it seems a hit with some posters wives, so maybe I'll get some admiring glances from the ladyeez!?

From the two cars I phoned about a couple of weeks ago, the ones with £1k off were demonstrators which weren't actually available to buy until next month (by when they could also significant mileage as they were also used for commuting by dealer staff).

Good luck tomorrow.

And its the car that will get the admiring glances and not you!

Ah ok - that doesn't make me feel quite so bad. I discovered a hondae owners forum on the interweb and most people there are paying full price or close to it...We apparently got free mats (which are rather natty) and a free umbrella so I'm going to consider myself a master negotiator.

Thanks! PHer's wives were admiring ME all day yesterday! Really like the car, it's decent to drive, can accelerate, and isn't boring to look at inside or outside.

Of most relevance to a forum full of motoring enthusiasts, you'll be relieved to know that you can have a choice of 3 different "beeping" sounds for the indicators, ranging from a standard ticking noise to some sonorous chimes.

I also hooked up my xbox last night and confirmed that you can happily play online shooter games on the central screens....will make waiting at charge points much less tedious!

Also, can you tell me what that panel is that looks like a giant oblong grab handle one the front of the car below the Honda badge, lastly does the HDMI input work on the move? Ie could a passenger play games on the left screen while you drive on?

HDMI is not available while the car is in drive.
