If it's the long term average that's way more disappointing than a small battery.

I'm used to expressing it in wh/km or wh/m... so can't make sense of that.
Sub zero temps, heating on full, drive it like you stole it it’s an EV and I can see 1.8 easy. Hills, turns, narrow country roads and economy goes way down.
Over 3 in summer seems to be no problem, but I’ve never tried driving it with economy in mind.
It’s dinky so I’d think 4 or more should be achievable?

2.6m/kWh for a car that small would be very poor wouldn't it?
I'd say depending on conditions. If it's parked outside and used for small runs, battery never goes to best operational temperatures and I could imagine that number.
Far from good but not inconcievable imho.
I would expect it to be less than 200wh/km though.
I had to drive for almost a full charge yesterday so heater off, driving sensibly, including 50% motorway I managed 4.3 miles per kWh. Before I hit the motorway it was over 5 - but with the heater off.
In other news Harry Metcalfe did an E video yesterday. Very positive I thought. And as always, bigger battery and it’d be wonderful…

27k mles and still love it
So I am sold on the Honda E, just love them despite being expensive and not as good on the range as it’s rivals, but its going to do all the short journeys in a city and its small I can hopefully get the other half driving.
They are scarce though and no Honda dealerships have got any to test locally, has anyone had a rear facing child’s seat in the back and how is it for passenger leg room? Its the last thing I need to check before taking the plunge I think. Just for reference we had an Audi Q2 courtesy car a few weeks back which was awful in every sense, but when the car seat was put in the other half’s legs were pretty much pressed up against the dash, which isn’t really workable.

I'd avoid if any level of practicality is required. You might squeeze in a rear facing child seat at a push but as the boot is tiny and the rear seat folds all in one piece (no 60/40) then the associated pram/buggy/pushchair is going to be a problem and leg room is tight. They are scarce though and no Honda dealerships have got any to test locally, has anyone had a rear facing child’s seat in the back and how is it for passenger leg room? IME a BMW i3 would be a much better bet for your needs. Loads of rear space, an easy to load 260L boot (170L for the Honda) and split folding rear seats make it a far more practical option despite it's diminutive size. It'll also go considerably further on a charge.

Interesting points thanks Swoll, it’s focus really just will be a city runabout though and it being a small car, its between this and the E-Up really. The I3 is probably a bit too big as stupid as that sounds, but I have someone who really doesn’t like driving that much. The Mini Me is 2 now though so rear facing seats won’t be forever, but the OH is fully subscribed to the rear facing is the all saving element so she’s going to have to wait until she gets to face forwards just yet.

Not as nice to drive though imo, and probably more expensive to run. There are plenty of horror stories about repair bills on the i3 as they get older. I did look at the I3’s and they were way ahead of their time, but yes have also read some horror stories about motor mounts and the likes, not even a cheap one I was offered a few weeks back made me take the plunge on one.
Let’s be honest though, the biggest draw to the Honda is the way it looks, something I cannot get past right now.

The i3 is pretty much identical in size to the Honda E, and rear seat access is a breeze thanks to the clever doors. It's also far simpler to operate than the Honda with all of its screens etc. for someone not keen on driving. The best city car we've ever owned, and will almost certainly end up with another at some point as a dailt runabout

The rex models are where the problem lies, the pure BEV models are fine as far as I am aware.Let’s be honest though, the biggest draw to the Honda is the way it looks, something I cannot get past right now.
