I’ve started looking into getting one installed for our hybrid (and at some point also a fully electric second car).

It seems that having the Zappi installed via Octopus is actually cheaper than having it installed directly by the manufacturer.

Does anyone having an opinion as to why it’s less, are there any disadvantages?
Not sure it's installed "directly" by the manufacturer, I think they just have local partners they sub contract to.

Octopus, to my knowledge, have their own installers (at least from the vans I've seen).

What charger would be recommended for a Model 3 long range? From looking online im leaning towards the Ohme pro. Cheers

Any, they all do pretty much the same thing.

These days it's worth looking which chargers are supported by "smart" energy tariffs such as Octopus and OVO. Ohme seem to be the most commonly supported.

I have an EO Mini which has been fine (one minor problem fixed by them without issue) but if I was getting another now it would be an Ohme epod.

Yes agree. Would recommend one that is compatible with both and at the moment that's only Ohme.

Although I've heard Indra will be IO compatible soon.

I’ve narrowed it down to Wallbox Pulsar Max and Ohme home pro. Anyone any opinion on which to go for? Thanks

I would go for Ohme as it's compatible both with IO and OVO.

Me too.

Although they seem to have some weird connectivity thing that is 4g only (i.e. no WiFi or ethernet). They pay for the SIM for the first three years but not sure what happens after that.

Or the other option might be Indra. They are OVO compatible and are planning to be Octopus compatible very soon.

Don’t go for an Indra. We installed quite a few, they all had issues.

Ohme are pretty solid, as are Hypervolt

Interesting to know. What were the issues? We're Indra helpful in getting it resolved under warranty?

What's your experience with Pod Point, as I'm thinking of having one installed? My current energy provider is EDF.

Also now looking, with EV sat on the drive (arrived yesterday). One of the neighbours has an Ohme charger. Looks the neatest solution that I've seen so far, very compact.

Apart from the looks, I think they are a good charger.

To be honest, the only two we refuse to install are Indra and BG Sync EV

What issues have you had with Indra?

Some had faulty leads, where they had to send out new leads and tamper seals.

There were poor factory connection's.

Connection issues between charger and the app. The last one we just swapped it for a Zappi in the end, as the customer was getting nowhere with support

We only fitted a handful over 6 months, all had issues.

It’s frustrating as it looks pad on us,

Another vote for Ohme and Intelligent Octopus. Had our Model Y a month now and has been seamless. Managed to shift a good chunk of our household electrical usage to the times when the car's charging, reducing our effective rate to less than 15Pppkwh.

If you do go with Ohme and IO, join this group and follow the featured video about setting up. Works perfectly if you do that:

I have a Podpoint from 2017.
It’s the old Type 2 tethered so only fits 1 car.

We are thinking of getting a 2nd electric.

Is it better to keep this and get another unit installed or can the unit be changed to untethered so at least then we just need to use a cable ?

Are you planning on the 2nd car NOT having a Type 2 cable?
I thought they were pretty well all that now?
In which case, why would you want a non-tethered replacement charger?

I got the impression he was looking to plug in two at once, but I don't think most chargers (or home electrical supplies) are able to handle that, at least for now.
