Be sure to go try the Model 3 out first. It's quite small and you may find it's a bit uncomfortable or difficult to get in/out compared to your Saab. Otherwise it's probably a good bet.
Another option is a Nissan Leaf. You could get a 40kWh one which would do your 140 mile commute okay. A 62kWh would give you more range. Both are quieter and more comfortable than the Model 3, but not as fast. The 62kWh is plenty quick for most people though. May be worth a test drive.
I would steer clear of the BMW i3 REX, you won't get the best from it with a 140 mile round trip.
There is the Renault Zoe, new 60kWh one just came out, very cheap but that does mean small and a bit noisy on the motorway.
Another cheap option is the Hyundai Ioniq. The new 38kWh model will do your 140 mile round trip. It's a bit small like the Model 3 but a hell of a lot cheaper.

Really great service.Looking at EV's myself OP right now, slightly lower mileage but the top choice as mentioned above for value is the i3 94ah Rex of late 2016 vintage. e-Golf leases are really cheap atm but right on the limit of my 100 miles a day, nevermind your 140 miles... that would get tedious!

Remember that you won't very often arrive empty so you'd only be looking at about 50% charge most of the time. You'll be done in less than 6 hours typically so even if you take a half day you'll be well within your range. So 8-9hr day would give me 56ishKW.
Any time it's marginal, pop to a supercharger, grab a coffee, fart about on your phone while you drink it and you'll be good to go before you know it.

Have an 2019 i3 120ah and love it for around town. Wouldn't want to spend 25k a year of motorway miles in it though.Zero VED

Went from a battery of about 20 kWh to one of 30-odd kWh. So range up by 50%. I had one of the lower range models (December 2015) and 80 miles Normal range except on coldest days when down to 60depending on where you are in London worth checking have they converted any lampposts? They will trickle charge it overnight
Model 3 I would have thought is bigger inside than your 9-3 ... its far more spacious than my old BMW 3 series
I would suggest price up a Long Range to minimise your range anxiety, plus driving that far every day surely its nice to have AWD during the winter months?

T3 is a bit small in the back I’m 6.1 and wouldn’t last long by father in-law is same and sometimes I would be picking them up.
In deed a few lamp posts are converted around here not many so wouldn’t rely on them. Annoying as anyone can park in front of them.
I have tried an bmw i3 before. Didn’t get on with it. Just sitting in it felt uncomfortable. I have had back problems before and since having the Saab it made it so much better.
Mileage is proving the problem. Since my MOT Jan on my Saab I just checked and I have clocked up 21k miles with this month to go plus the rest of the year!!!
