Sorry if there is already a thread for them (I did search but come up with nothing)
Anyone else super interested in two wheeled EVs ?
This latest "Zero" looks fantastic

I'd imagine not being able to blip the throttle whilst sat at traffic lights might prove to be a problem for some. Anyone else super interested in two wheeled EVs ?

Bikes are much more about the engine than cars are. The noise, the feel, the explosive acceleration on relatively humdrum stuff. With bikes there is also much less of a fuel saving benefit, scooters aside most of the nice stuff is used as toys for low mileage, the savings compared to a car running daily just aren’t the same. I could go for an electric car if the numbers made sense but I could never see me having an appetite for an electric bike.
I would.I ride off road (green lane) only and the idea of something quiet would be great - nothing worse for the hobby than loud bikes interacting with walkers/horses who get a bigger say in what gets to share the lanes with them.
Not sure how an EV motor would work on slow tricky stiff with no gears/clutch - maybe a sort of throttle setting (like on a ps4) where a full twist only gives 20% of the power so you can fine tune what's available for given sections of terrain??
As always - charging is the issue. I'm often riding 8hrs plus a day and staying in remote spots/the wild.

I would. It's the riding experience. The electric bikes have the sort of torque that makes v-twin owners envious. You do get that explosive acceleration, and they are not without their own sound of titanic forces being unleashed...just a different sound. Think Tie Fighter mixed with underground train. It's different, but not without appeal.
