Still have quick access button at the bottom though for more regularly used functions such as seat heating/climate etc?
Yes

True about the "in sight" part. Could solve that by moving a part in front of the steering wheel though wink
Thinking more about stuff you need to press regularly rather than providing driver info TBH.

Honestly never missed not having a binnacle behind the steering wheel in the Model 3 after getting used to the change initially. A HUD would be a nice addition but then I'd say that with any car no matter the layout.

Seems like the videos are out.

Here's the one from Jonny Smith, he seems to appreciate it:

I do agree with him that it's a grower in terms of looks, I thought it was quite hideous at first but it grew on me.

I very seriously considered pre-ordering one of these, but decided to cut EV budget for lots of reasons, by £10k. Had I not done so, this would still be top of the pile at that cost/price. Think they look really good, inside and out.

There's some pretty good reviews coming out of the US too, usually comparing to Model Y's (what else?).

edit: Should've also said that I do enjoy Jonny Smith's reviews these days - he strikes just the right balance of not falling into the likes of TG/Evo "PH/track-god, handling is king, what's the 'Ring time" versus What Car/Which "white goods" reviews.

A mate of mine has just ordered one of these as a company car.

It looks to be a very smart car, and I’m keen to see what it’s like in real life.

Hopefully he’ll get it in time for his old car going back (July).

Just watched that Late Brake Show video. The car looks great, but it looks pricey compared to the I-Pace. When the performance GT is available, it looks like it'll be more expensive than the RWD Taycan.

Once demand levels off, the price will be discounted as per all fords though.

Not sure where "pricey" comes from? The AWD models bracket the i-Pace's range, and the most expensive of those is still £8k less than the base i-Pace.

If you're not fussed about AWD, the Mach-E will give you more range for £17k less......

It’ll be interesting to see if it’s built to a higher standard than an actual Mustang. I had one in 2016 and the quality was horrid. To counter that it’s a relatively cheap car but whilst the MachE appeals of its of similar build I’d be disappointed.

Or the performance. Or the badge on the nose. One's a Ford and the other's a Jag.

To be fair, I think the Jag is also too expensive. If you look at stuff like the Model Y, Polestar 2, etc... This car should be under £50k for the top speed model.

It is a grower once you see it.

However, he's just done a video on the Nissan Ariya? and that looks especially smart to me.

Isn't that end of year in the US? Wonder when that'll come here...

Was still a bit on the fence on the Mustang, but Matt has me convinced:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8_LWJ6AXpY

Looks like Ford did a very good job creating it.
I also think this is the best colour I've seen on it, really like the stance.
Might be a bit under-wheeled though with those 18's.

£350 over the grant threshold seems a bit daft.

Or perhaps they know that most will be company cars, so £3k is irrelevant, plus the threshold could move at any time anyway.

Yeah, from what I have read, Ford is currently pretty happy with production numbers and sales on the Mach E. Some stumbles and early quality issues have lead to a recall on some and delays for others. But they did say they wanted to get to around 50,000 deliveries in the first year - given its available in multiple markets around the world, volume isnt the issue here. Being slightly over a threshold in one market is unlikely to affect them.

I am starting to see a few on the roads around me (Sacramento). Could be early dealer demo vehicles, but from what I have asked, most dealers dont even have their demos yet! Have to assume some of them are early customer cars. I get the impression that Ford is going for consistency, predictability and more importantly making a profit on each car - yeah, I know, odd concept!

Or perhaps the grant is for cars under 35k.. so it’s £5350 over it.
