Apparently the 12v battery died that powers some of the start up ancillaries (i know, a separate battery? crazy design)

The charging of this said battery relies on the car running and not on it being charged from the charger in the wall rofl

The software changes this somehow so that it doesnt go flat, killing the car.

Caveat, It was explained by a french person trying to speak english so accuracy could be somewhat suspect biggrin

That's standard for almost all EVs. Separate 12V battery to run 12V equipment so they don't have redesign it all or build a complex DC-DC converter system.

Most EVs charge the 12V battery as needed, not just when running. It also took most manufacturers a few software revisions to get it right. Early Nissan Leafs, early Kias, early Renault Zoes, early Teslas, they all had 12V battery problems.

Stop asking or the fkers will change it back next time your at the dealership just like they stopped peoples F Types making cool noises that drew them to their cars in the first place.

Why would they change it back to an older version of the software?

I doubt they would it was a dig at their recent software upgrades which did what I outlined to F Types. Seems you benefited from something that was done which is a bonus.

Seems so, though it was done in France so dont know exactly what the updates covered, i’m happy it seems to ride better but id like to know its not my imagination smile

Yes, i read your post re the ‘update’ on the f-type, fekin cheek springs to mind, i would not be happy with that, coincidently i ordered a Plug n play gizmo today that removes the ‘neighbour friendly’ valve closure before 3k rpm and soft limiter (we dont have neighbours)
