Am I mistaken or does that bring it exactly in line with the Polestar?

So the Model 3 with the hatchback is significantly more expensive than the Model 3.

Where do I sign?

Interested to understand the reasoning behind that. Where does that leave Tesla's industry-leading margins?

You really are a plank aren't you. It's a mid sized SUV in comparison to a saloon car with more space and practicality and better tech beneath the surface.

Essentially they charge exactly the same premium every other manufacturer charges for the same thing (3 series>X3, a5>Q5, C-Class>GLC)

Awaits the inevitable "They're so ugly/boring" comments..

If the internet is anything to go by then one side of the coin suggests Tesla are addressing demand weakness.
Aside from Covid impact Tesla is seeing negative growth in established* markets over the last 12 months since the Model 3 was produced in meaningful numbers - in the UK Q3 2019 was the peak and then a steady decline in quarterly sales since.

Also talk that should Biden win the US election the 200k sales volume threshold for BEV subsidies will be increased to 600k however Tesla will already have breached this number hence only benefitting competition.

Tesla need to make hay.

Go to Audi and ask for an A4 with a hatchback and try not to hide your indignation.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to call the Model Y an SUV - it's a crossover at best, and in many ways looks more like an MPV.

Class it as you want (and I'd say those lines are well and truly blurred these days), the point is it isn't just a Model 3 with a hatchback as suggested above.

Its not a pretty car is that Model Y, judged from that pic. Looks less 'alien' than the Model 3 so won't even look good on Mars.

Mind you, GLC and the others aren't oil paintings neither.

Unfortunately, with all the "technological advances" (aka problems fixed) over the Model 3, it does increasingly make the smaller model look like a misstep, and the early adopters conned into beta testing.

Share price is ridiculous in the circumstances, but we know there's going to be jam tomorrow, so I'm sure it'll all be all right. hehe

Isn't that what this whole thing usually is? The next model is usually better than the last. The next plane is usually better than the last. The next train is usually better than the last. It's called progress.

Sure. The problem is that makes the Model 3 a poor choice for buyers right now. "Look at my brand new last generation model"..

Isn't that the same with any car though?

When BMW launch the X3 after the 3 series was launched, isn't the 3 series last generation by that time? Car makers are always launching new models. I don't think that makes a 3 series a bad buy if the new gen X3 is already out.

As above, why would you get a 3 series if the 4 series grancoupe or 3GT came out a bit later?
