It’s a company car, it seemed like a no brainer to rejoin the scheme given the BIK rates. I don’t need to contribute anything towards it ( I get the princely sum of £3 per month underspend on my allowance back). Would you be happy to show the deal you got?

I've just ordered one too. I think a lot of critics have completely missed the point of the EQC. Some people don't want fart sound effects when they indicate, but prefer a well made comfortable quiet car that happens to be electric. Who cares if it shares some components of the GLC (15% IIRC)??

What critics? I think it's a great looking car if its abilities match what you need. I've just ordered one too. I think a lot of critics have completely missed the point of the EQC. I was very surprised when I drove it.
The steering was better than I was expecting, the car wasn't as tomb-quiet as I was expecting (but it was wet, I'm used to an S6 with double glazing on quiet 20" tyres, and the EQC was on 21" rims) but it felt very well put together and very very well sorted. I thought the Comfort suspension setting was too soft for me, but Sport seemed fine (again it could just be what I'm used to).
Overall I was really surprised how like a normal car it felt (instant torque notwithstanding) and I think that's exactly the point of the EQC. It's a normal premium car that runs on electricity.

All the journalists that mark it down heavily because it wasn't "designed from the ground up as an EV". I happen to like the fact that it looks and feels like a normal car. I like having buttons and switches to turn things on and off rather than poke about on a touchscreen. Which it also has, if you're that way inclined.

Exactly!! My company is paying no more for the EQC than it was on the salary I needed to cover petrol, servicing, warranty etc etc on my current car. As you say, a no-brainer for people in that situation.Edited by zadumbreion on Saturday 25th January 20:22

Are you going to be charging at home or at work? If I read right, you can charge at work even for private use without any penalties / tax?Predicted delivery date is May 2020 but I’m not holding my breath on that....

I forgot to mention - I really liked being able to choose the level of regen using the flappy paddles. I think that's going to be a lot of fun - experimenting between D+ / coasting (which I love doing in my S6) and the D- and D-- settings.

Etron does the same - you can chose auto or manual regen . Auto changes the regen dependent on other traffic etc I don't know which other manufacturers let you choose the level or intensity of regen, but I think it'll make things more interesting and fun.
I find one pedal driving one of the real benefits of EV's so don't understand why you wouldn't just have the regen set to it's highest setting all the time personally. Doesn't take long to get used to, is the most efficient I assume as every time you back off you're putting energy back in the battery and removes a lot of strain from the physical brakes which massively extends life and keeps your wheels cleaner.
