Hi A1Diego,

We’ve done 700 miles in 3 weeks, cost, as mentioned earlier In the thread, approx 5.6p per mile.

Currently we are on a standard plug so just keep it topped up every night, once the charge master box is installed I guess we will just charge every 2-3 days to avoid any range anxiety, but on a 7kwh charger it will take around 12 hours to fill from empty. (Can’t imagine we will let it get that low though).
Why not just plug it in every day?
We could and, as I said, we do at the moment. whether we bother to once the bigger charger is installed (that’s a separate issue and will definitely be an area that needs developing as electric cars get rolled out ) will depend on useage, it’s not as if we go and top up the other cars with petrol every night.

Rory seems to quite like it...

(with some reservations about cornering / brakes)
That looks lovely. It sure beats that horrid E-Tron thingy and the daft new BMW.

For me it takes about 15 seconds to plug in my car so I just leave it constantly topped up in case I need it.

I really liked the EQC and was close to placing an order but have gone for the Model 3 instead. I was a little bit worried about the range and the interior space is not great considering the footprint of the car. The extra range and performance of the Tesla would have been compelling at the same price ... at £20k+ more it was hard to justify the EQC. Spec options were also very limited - I wanted small wheels, driving assistance and a light interior, but i'd have to forego one of those... not what you want at this price point.

That said it drives really nicely, very quiet, decent poke and would be a really good car for ferrying the kids around etc whilst feeling super safe.

I’ve just ordered one of these, I would have liked the model x but, it was simply too much money at over £1000/month.

I went for the AMG premium, plus’s, was a big jump on the lease.

Wife has a model 3, I’ve never had to use the non Tesla charging network, but hopefully it won’t be too painful.

January delivery.

I’m close to ordering one of these through my work, only issue is I’ve yet to see one in the metal and at over 6ft 5ins I’m concerned about rear legroom. I test drove the Mode 3 before lockdown 3 and have had to discount that because it was very small in the back with my seat in a comfortable position. Obviously no dealers are open at present so question for current owners - “what’s it like back there?”

I'm 99% sure the EQC is not bigger in interior space than the Model 3.

I'm pretty sure it'll be smaller than the Y... but the 3?

Anyway, came to this thread to say that one of my neighbors got one and as much as I like the e-tron styling, I prefer the look of the EQC. Very good looking car, even in the "resale" silver he got it.

The EQC has the same wheelbase as the GLC has a very similar wheelbase to the Model 3 and from an interior packaging perspective, I would say that the Model 3 felt roomier to me in the front and the back because it's been designed as an EV from the ground up, and doesn't have the big transmission tunnel running through the rear like the GLC.

Sounds like your rear passengers would be more comfortable behind you in a GLE or GLS, which have longer wheelbases, if you're after a MB SUV.

Thanks Raspy but it really has to be an EV, for tax reasons. I was hoping the more upright seating position might offset the similar wheelbase concerns, when I drove the Model 3 I felt like my legs were fairly horizontal vs the 'heel below the knee' feeling you get in SUV's/Crossovers. Audi E-Tron is another option, but our allowance only gets you the smaller audi battery size.

I’m 6ft and I can sit behind myself in our EQC with at least 4 -5 inches of knee room. The rear seat, as you say is quite upright and the front seat has a sculpted back, I would probably run out of headroom before legroom. Middle seat is slightly compromised with a small raised tunnel.

Let me know if you would like to know more

Just ordered one of these as the new company car - AMG Line in brilliant blue! Trying to see if I can get the free charger out of the lease company as well! :-)

Hi,

I am getting the charger with my lease deal through MAF leasing, so should be no problem.

Delivery should be in 2 weeks, it’s still at the port.

I didn’t sit in the back, I’m 6’2 plenty of room in the front.

Nick.

The pre-entry climate control has been great in these colder temps. So nice to get into a warm car.

I'm looking at these or E-Tron's for this September when my Q5 goes back. I've never had an MB, plenty of BMW's and Audi's over the years and we have a Disco 5 as well so the size isn't an issue as we won't take it out much with all of us in the car. I'm 6ft 5" so not many cars have much room behind me, I have found over the years that I seem to get closer to the steering wheel though to accommodate growing kids!

An EV is a no brainer for me as it can go through the business, I am slightly worried about the tax jumping past the 22-23 tax year as I think it's an easy option for the Govt. to put the rate up and badge it as a 'luxury car' BIK charge as they obviously can't go down the emissions route.

I really fancy the EQC though as I like the MB interior nowadays and there are some good business deals about on them at the moment.
