Unless i'm missing something, at best you're going to have a monthly payment of £300 for a Leaf?

Edited by rich12 on Wednesday 4th March 09:57
I think it includes the install of a charger and the Electricity and £30 a month cashback.

So £270 all in, I don't know what the mileage is but it doesn't look like an amazing deal compared to what we had.

They're trying to be clever. It's £299 including the £30 rebate if you do 12 cycles every month.

Oh, that's an even worse deal then.
Nevermind!

This is just pathetic.
Topgear mention leaf in their Zoe review
https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/renault/zoe/dr...

we averaged about 4.9mi/kWh (Renault claims 5.65mi/kWh). Driven carefully a VW e-Golf might average 4.0mi/kWh, and we struggle to get any more than 3.6mi/kWh from the Nissan Leaf.

Looks pretty expensive to me

Prices are subject to change and availability, and are based on 4 year contract and an initial payment of £2,385

My long-term Leaf average is 3.7, including winter, and commuting via DC at 70mph.

Just getting a quote for a N-Connecta Leaf from Central on a 3+23 for 12k miles @ 235.34 + VAT putting it through my Ltd. Any thoughts as to if that's a good deal in the current climate?

Are you set on a Leaf? We've just leased an Ioniq Electric (to replace our Leaf) which has some great lease deal about, and feel it's the better car.

I think the biggest gain is almost never using the footbrake unless you're coming to a complete stop. And using 'B' mode.

Is that 70 on the speedo or reality? I assume the 40 overreads by 10% like the earlier ones.

Your dash says youre getting 3.4 miles per kWh thats not that different?
(5.5 km per KWh)

You achieved about 101 miles so thats a usable battery capacity of 30kWh

Not set on the Leaf but would be interested to hear why you feel it's the better car. If you could also share the great lease deals then that would help as well. I've found this which is about the same as the Leaf - https://www.v4b.co.uk/car-leasing/hyundai/ioniq/10...

Yeh I know but I lost maybe 20 miles if that when I had the model s which was circa 7% of its total range.

This is 33% of its range.
Your mistake was expecting a Leaf which is running essentially the same drive train as the first 2011 cars to deliver the same level of efficiency/consistency as a Tesla smile.

I found going the other way from a Leaf to a Tesla to be a much more enjoyable experience.

Look on the bright side at least your Leaf has a 40kWh pack, imagine the same trip in a Leaf with a 24kWh pack, or even worse a really early Leaf with a 24kWh pack + resistive heater!! So stop moaning like a snowflake, just drive it slower, draft lorries, wear thermals, and pretend there is a family of baby rabbits under your right foot every time you even think about accelerating wink.

Sod that!
Even if I only get 2.5m/kwh. Its still cheaper to run than my last car.

It's just how often I need to charge the bloody thing. Cars done 730 miles so far.

Are you sure you have a 40kwh pack?

Don't want to derail the thread (too much), but as we have a Leaf right now perhaps it's allowed! We've had a Leaf 30 for 3 years so know it well. We test drove the 40 and felt it wasn't much different - slightly better range but not great. Other than that it felt like the same car, except we prefer the interior of ours. The Ioniq has more modern battery technology and so is more efficient, especially in the cold and at motorway speeds. We found it more comfortable and better specified - although we will miss the "mini mpv" styling of the Leaf. We got a good deal from ZenAuto leasing on the Ioniq, which was £65/month less than the equivalent Leaf, although the deals do seem to come and go quickly and seem pricier when I looked just now. We're paying £235/month for an Ioniq Premium in Intense Blue (10k 6x35).

Both are good cars though, perhaps we just preferred a change and the Leaf 30 -> 40 didn't feel like much of one for the price increase.

£270 a month overall for a 38kwh Ioniq is very good. I can't see it anywhere for <£300 now.
