Saw this on Autocar

Seems ridiculous to me to allow such cars to be driven without a driving licence. I am pretty sure that hitting pedestrians at 26 mph could be fatal as could causing accidents with larger vehicles. This is not a bicycle and people driving them should have a licence. Plus with such a low top speed these are going to clog up the roads as you can’t overtake them as easily as bicycles either (even mopeds can generally get to the 30 mph speed limit.)

They've only gone and bloody released the thing (after everyone said the concept was a bit crazy)
Appreciate it might cause PHers to froth at the mouth given it's electric and <30mph top speed, but nobody can accuse Citroen of losing their madness!

From an automotive product development background, what they have managed to achieve with regards to reduction in complexity is something most OEM's can only dream of (carryover front and rear bumpers, non-handed bodysides, non-handed doors and windows) - it's properly mental. This gives it an element of nerdy cachet!
Still don't know what to make of it, but I'd probably happily have one for running about if I lived in London or some such.

France is a vast country with little rural public transport. These kind of cars have been common for decades. I think your froth is misplaced.

Certainly a massive improvement on the chuggy noisy ones they currently market which sound like they use a single or twin cylinder rear mounted engine.
However, in the UK you will need a licence and even if you could drive it at 16, no yoofs will pay 6000 Euros for a year.
As to their appeal to OAPs to pop down the shops, it has some merit but only if you can fit your shopping in. Depends on the VEL I suppose.
Disappointed in the styling. It lacks the cuteness if the original Mini, 500, new 500 or Twizy.
