I thought they still have to do some compulsory training before they can use them? bit like cbt for uk mopeds.
I believe you need nothing at all (in terms of license, still need insurance etc.) to drive one of these in France if you're born before 1988.For those that are born after that date, they need a license of some class (AM?) which is kind of like a CBT, and can be held, in France, from Age 14.
Massively detuned engines and (effectively) 3 wheels anyone?
See them on the autobahn nervously approaching any sort of bend, curve or light gust of breeze

Cool for the kids who get to drive these though. I was champing at the bit at 14 to get on the road.
I remember going on German exchange at 16 and one of the lads had a DT50. I did too, back at home, but his was newer and a lot cooler and I could legally ride pillion on it. I was very jealous!

interesting, up to a point - IIRC for the same money (£6000) you can get a Dacia of some flavour which is a sight more practical
An electric Dacia for six grand? Dream on.Plus maintenance, insurance and running costs will be a lot cheaper for the Ami.
For popping down to ASDA this wee Citroen seems perfect

Just read in the sun that Citroen have launched a webpage to see if us Brits would be intrested in the new Ami, The more that vist the more likely it will happen.

Theyre really really clever.
To keep the costs down the bodywork is coloured plastic, if you want it a different colour they will of course paint it for you for a cost.
There is only one door moulding, so it hinges at the front on one side, and the back on the other side.
I think the front and rear bumper mouldings are the same too, with obviously different lights and badging, all to keep cost to a bare minimum.
I think its cool. As a method of inner city personal mobility then I think they're great. I hope they will fly off the shelves. With people trying to avoid public transport for the foreseeable future then I hope to see quite a few around.
I applaud citroen to going back to being an innovative car company, rather than being part of the heard and just designing another big, heavy, resource hungry, electric SUV that nobody ACTUALLY wants or needs.
