I've seen one twice in the last couple of days in Banbury.
Today it was coming round the big roundabout just down from the M40 junction, heading from the retail park into town. It can be a bit of a gamble pulling out during busy times but it seemed to do that fime. Reached it's Vmax pretty quickly on the dual carriageway though - big queue of traffic behind it trying to pull into the second lane to get past.
Cool concept and I love the thought that went into engineering it to be cheap to build - I'd love a go in one and can definitely see the appeal for those whose usage patterns fit with the speed and range it provides. Just can't help thinking it is just a bit slow for a lot of roads and you could feel pretty vulnerable holding up an HGV for example - most traffic won't realise quite how low the top speed is.

Again, having lived with a Twizy, if I would live in an urbanized area, I'd have one in a heartbeat.
I love the idea of one, but having seen this one locally twice over the last few days with a queue of traffic behind it I'm thinking the appeal may wear thin. I suspect most road users won't realise you are flat out at 28mph.595Heaven said:

As such, they cannot be driven on motorways, but dual carriageways are permissable. Where I saw it, the dual carriagway is probably only 1/2 mile long, but is the main route in to Banbury from M40 so is always very busy.

Hi, we have a "Limited to 28mph" sticker on the back of Alan. It sets expectations in order to mitigate frustrations behind!
Never tried a 70mph dual carriageway, but 40mph roads haven't been a problem. Some folks overtake - never had any angry flashing, or sounding of horns. Most people point and smile!
Was tempted by this though:

Driving one of these wheelchairs on a dual carriageway sounds rather dangerous. 28mph is barely adequate for a 30mph zone with real world ~35mph speeds.ajprice said:
On 20-30 limit, maybe short 40 limit areas, I'd feel fine in one. I wouldn't go anywhere near a dual carriageway in one. It's an urban transport, whoever 595Heaven saw on the dual carriageway may have had a screw loose. I'm not sure of the UK law but in France quadricycles aren't allowed on dual carriageway or motorways (from Aixam's website https://www.aixam.com/en/all-you-need-to-know-abou... )
They're not allowed on voies rapides, which are fast trunk roads, rather than simply any old dual carriageway.Olivera said:

National speed limit country roads again not a problem as long as they are small twisty ones where it's not a great idea to carry any kind of speed....although you do go a bit slow up big hills. I'm avoiding any kind of out of town A roads, carriageways etc - I don't have the confidence it would be a good idea to do that
Happy New Year to all

I've half heartedly considered one but where I live (South Devon) is very hilly so I think it would struggle a lot going between the three towns in Torbay.
If it had a little bit more grunt (say, 40mph) then it would be perfect but I think I would piss a lot of people off going up a hill at 20mph.

Yes, they are deceptively huge inside. You sit down and the windscreen is miles away and the passenger seat is set back a bit, so it feels very spacious.
I dont own one but have driven them a few times, being on the site of a Citroen dealer. I think we've only sold one or two but we aren't in or near any big cities. I suspect they will do much better there.
I can see them being great for takeaways, estage agents, etc who'd usage will be almost always within the confines of 30mph limits.
We are on a 60mph road and as soon as you take it on there, you feel it's limitations both in top speed and acceleration. Heck, even my 50cc scooter with me on seems to get to 30 (and beyond) a bit quicker.
But if the usage suited, it is great. Fun little thing, i really like them.
