To be honest I had one of the first Etrons and my range this year at the coldest dropped to around 165 miles. Normally north of 200. The newer cars have more range, maybe another 10/15 miles so your figures seem about right.
Yeah it’s a 2020 model, so a I believe it has a bit more range than initial models. The 150kw charging capability makes all the difference when away from home, so it can charge at its full rate almost all the way until 80% charge, so it’s typically less than 30 mins from almost zero to a 80% charge. Is that your experience? To be honest I had one of the first Etrons and my range this year at the coldest dropped to around 165 miles. Normally north of 200. I don't know what the pricing is like now, but mine is £475 including VAT on a 3+23, with 10k miles per year. I know leasing isn't as cheap as it was a couple of years ago. What I'm paying now was the absolute limit of what I considered reasonable for a car lease.
Cheers, the base level E-Tron is more like £525+ vat at the moment for the same mileage and term. Mine will be through the business and with no/minimal BIK it makes sense for me. Cheers for all the replies, very interesting reading. If the E-Tron is going to be a long wait, my backup plan is a P400e Range Rover Sport! I dont do many miles, and it'll do for a few years until the EV world is in better shape.
I've always loved the RR Sport, and I know the build quality is questionable, but its a Range Rover

Sounds like a good option, and will do the same job if most of your journeys are 30 miles or so? In company car world the BIK on EVs is simply too good to consider anything else at the moment, so I’m guessing it’s a private purchase?I've always loved the RR Sport, and I know the build quality is questionable, but its a Range Rover
If so, I would consider the X5 45e as it’s electric only WLTP range is 20 miles more than the RRS.
Hi
I'll be leasing it through my business, hence why i was going full EV for the zero tax, but the RR Sport is only £195 per month personal tax, so not too bad for a car like that.
I've looked at the X5 45e, but it just doesnt have the appeal of the RR. I had a 2015 X5 40d M Sport, and whilst it was built brilliantly, the ride was awful. I believe the new X5s have air suspension, but again, it doesnt have that kerb side appeal of a RR.
Cant wait now, hope I can get one soon! lol

I’m a big fan of the RR, so definitely understand the appeal.I'll be leasing it through my business, hence why i was going full EV for the zero tax, but the RR Sport is only £195 per month personal tax, so not too bad for a car like that.

For what it’s worth though, the new x5 is absolutely chalk and cheese compared to the previous model. Brilliant ride, and cabin quality.
Good luck with the search, they are nice choices to have

Good suggestion on the X5e, I’ve just priced one up and the tax is really low at 6% BIK. It’s my business so I can easily do the man maths to make that cost the same as an EV. Can't see the point of the E-tron or EQC now it is 2021 yet still trying to push sub 180 mile SUV's . These will be heavily depreciated and superseded very quickly by the ID4, Model Y and number of all the other purpose built EV's which offer better range and value.
The Model Y & ID4 are tiny little cars. The E-Tron & EQC will seat 5 in comfort, along with enough space for luggage for holidays, etc.Whilst I am sure the former are great cars for those they suit, they certainly are not comparable to the latter as a luxury family car.

I guess that’s the challenge of being an early(ish) adopter. The technology is only going one way. In the meantime, genuinely luxurious EVs like the Etron and EQC are fairly rare in the market.andyeds1234 said:

While I wouldn’t describe the ID4 as “tiny” the images you have provided actually prove there is quite a difference in size. Over 30cm longer and 8cm wider, really is quite significant. The Q7 is significantly bigger again for example.

The ID4 is only 30cm shorter and roughly the same width and height of the E-Tron. Hardly a tiny little car.
30cm is alot in car terms.... Whilst the dimension seem insignificant to yourself, rest assured they make a considerable difference as to whether you can transport 5 people around, and their associated luggage, around in comfort.
I'm not saying they are bad cars. I'm saying they are much smaller cars and for those who want a luxury family car just really aren't a viable option.
