Hi all. Have been looking at the budget end of the 7kw home charger installations and so far found.
EO Mini Pro 2
Hypervolt
Ohme
Podpoint
Pulsar Plus
Is anybody able to comment good or bad on any of these please? Car is a Hyundai Kona Electric 39kwh.
Many thanks.

But ...
EO Mini Pro 2 - fine, small (but not the smallest despite their ads), range of colours but does have an earth spike (or pricey alternative option for that)
Hypervolt - New, not seen or heard much about it
Ohme - fine but not the nicest thing to have on the front of your house
Podpoint - fine, old skool design (big)
Pulsar Plus - fine but tethered only
There aren't any bad ones out there, whichever you go for.

Yep, but it's a dumb charger so no OZEV grant. There are a few similar to that at similar pricing.kambites said:
What determines whether a charger needs an earth spike or not?
O-Pen protection. It can be added to any chargepoint using something like a Matt:e/Garo/Rolec device but they can be expensive and sometimes noisy as a standalone unit.Check out the SyncEV unit.
Sleek with O-Pen, Type A RCD and load management built in.
Also eligible for the EVHS grant.

Nothing useful to add really, but I've gone for the Hypervolt after dithering over that or Zappi.
I have looped supply so waiting for DNO to fix that before installation can proceed. Taking forever.
Do you mind me asking what price you were charged for the Hypervolt?I have looped supply so waiting for DNO to fix that before installation can proceed. Taking forever.
Hi,
After looking into a Zappi, EO, Rolec I settled with an SyncEV which I had installed from Charging Point UK Ltd.
I can't fault the charger at all, extremely small!!! Comes with all the features on the if that's what you're looking for. Don't over complicate it as the more fancy stuff you have on it the more too go wrong in my opinion.
The whole process was made extremely easy by them so can highly recommend.
I believe they cover London, East & South East of England. So if you're in that area get in touch with them.

They can also assist a deal with the £350 grant.
Kind Regards
Jackson

Anyone recommend a not too expensive tethered charger 7kw. Podpoint seems quite big and around £600
You will ways pay more for a tethered as it has more cable and a connector. PP one is perfectly fine and the size allows you to wrap it around the unit unlike smaller unitsGassing Station | EV and Alternative Fuels | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
