ID.3 discounts
Discussion
I’m currently thinking of buying an ID.3. I’m happy with the life model, but want the 204ps battery/engine version. It’s coming out at ~£32.5k on the VW website, down to ~£30k with plug in grant.
Drive the deal reckons I should be looking at around ~£25.5 with discounts.
Has anyone managed to get this sort of discount from vw please? I’ve read a lot of comments about good discounts being available but not got actual figures.
Thanks in advance.

If that’s the price drive the deal are offering, why not just order through them? They’ll set you up with a VW dealer and it’s all legit.
Alternatively you could take a print out of the drive the deal quote to your local VW garage and see if they’ll match it. I tried that and my local dealer wasn’t interested so I ordered an Up GTi via DTD.

Thanks mate.
I’ve never bought a new car and never used dtd. Sorry to sound dumb but is it literally that simple? No catches?
We bought my wifes car via Drive the deal, local dealer couldn't get near the price, turned out the dealer offering the deal was only 40 miles away. We were treated the same as any other customer at pick up, so flowers/small gifts etc. From memory you don't find out who the dealer offering the deal is until quite late on the process.I’ve never bought a new car and never used dtd. Yep it’s really that easy - you submit a quote request via the website and someone from dtd will be in touch to confirm and after that you’ll deal with the VW dealer direct. You get access to all the same finance deals that the public get too. I’ve never bought a new car and never used dtd. Sorry to sound dumb but is it literally that simple? No catches?
Not sure if it’s the same dealer they use now but it was one in the south of England when I bought my Up. For EVs I think you need to collect it yourself but the ID3 has decent range so it shouldn’t be too much hassle (assuming you don’t live on Orkney!).

My local VW dealer was the same. I said I would like to keep my business local if they could get close but the price they offered me after I came back from the test drive was pretty much full price. They even forgot to remove the £2,500 government grant. Even after I pointed that out and the fact that they appeared on CarWow and their offer on there was cheaper, they didn't even try and match that. Basically were ripping me off, to my face!Alternatively you could take a print out of the drive the deal quote to your local VW garage and see if they’ll match it. It's people that don't look for a deal or don't know any better that are keeping dealers like this alive. Their days are numbered!
Drivethedeal discount includes the £2500 govt grant (if list under £35k), and a £1750 PCP deposit contribution from VW. So you're looking at about £2500 extra that comes from dealer margin.
There was the extra £1000 Euro 2020 / test drive offer, although as cars need to be delivered by end of September and lead times are long, DtD aren't offering it any more (it was only £500 more discount, so I assume some came from VW, some out of the dealer's pocket). You might find a dealer though with cars in stock or on the way that can hit that deadline though.
DtD find the dealers willing to take less margin in order to sell more cars, normally hitting some manufacturer target bonus.

My Dad has just bought an ID3 Family and the discounts are crazy on them at the minute you won’t have to work hard to achieve a big discount.
What sort of discount did he manage please? As the poster above said for the Euro offer the car needed to be delivered before September but the dealer had a car due for delivery in the exact spec my Dad wanted.
