With the ID3 they've scrimped and saved at every corner and yet still the Golf 8 is cheaper.
Custard time..........
Have a look at vw.co.uk no custard needed.

Why do people who haven't sat in, driven or owned feel the need to rubbish a car.

I would suggest that the OP researches owners rather than take notice of the tripe posted in this thread.
Because internet forums hehe

I've driven one. It did feel quite big and cheap and nothing like the existing ICE versions of VWs people know. That said it was still pretty nice if you like a mobile domestic appliance ... and most people do.

Like the OP I was a bit surprised to see discounting from VW already. Maybe it is just not selling very well...

Ahh the good old well worn apple and oranges trick, so custard required

I just took delivery of a leased Tiguan R-Line 1.5 TSI. Because it was £140/month cheaper than an ID4.

It's very very very simple... Spec a Golf to the same as an ID3 .... off you go

No thanks. Feel free to do so yourself though, you must have if you're making these vague and slightly weird posts.

I can't see a new Mk8 for anywhere near the price of a new ID3. Maybe I'm missing something obvious but it's not like the base ID3 has amazing spec.

While you at it feel free to read though the whole thread and the context of the posts, you may be enlightened and less weird around the conversation you waded into.

I’m confused even more now. Thanks for spoiling a nice EV discussion with pointless drivel, I’m out,

Poor Quality on ID3 build and slow development in software Technology is showing and even on Premium Q4 etron cheapness is evident which would never of happened on traditional fossil Q4
Can you elaborate on cheapness with the Q4? looks like a typical Audi high quality cabin to me, and in fact better then the recent A3 and Q3

Having just crept across London in a new A3 the only way it could be worse is if they didn't even put the thin layer of vinyl material over the concrete seats like the did in the A3, and just left them as bare concrete. For a company whose sole USP is "nice interiors" it was remarkably nasty throughout.

Especially since I live in a terrace house with no access to home charging so would have to pay the inflated public charging electricity rates.

If your charging was free, you wouldn't.

Bit of a segway, but do you actually only do 5000 miles a year? I always see these lease deals that look like amazing value but they're always for tiny mileages.

5k miles a year isn't that far below average; even pre-covid average.

I've just googled it and get figures between 7k and 9k a year - I'd really not realised it was that low.
