but in my tesla, even though it looks very ordinary (a positive IMO...) no one will take it on from the lights. it's chav cryptonite, even the noisiest vrs/vxr/sti turns into a meek little choirboy when they are alongside. it's quite a frustration actually.
Anyway, i had my first opportunity the other day to go up against a genuinely fast ICE that was actually trying.

lights at the bottom of a mile straight, level, then slightly uphill.
plenty of furtive glances from the passenger (who was sipping out of a champagne flute (well played sir, living your best life....))
lights go green, they pause, i set off steadily, get to about 20mph and i hear his motor absolutely hammering it, good lad.....
from the very instant my foot went down, he was neutralised and about half a second later he was being gapped, took it to about 10 car lengths and slowed. i was then treated to a full bore fly-by, it sounded great.
about a mile down the road i passed again to lots of smiling and thumbs up
it was about the perfect road encounter, excellent fun....

I too had a B7 S4 Avant, it handled alright but still understeered like a pig when pressed. I'm not saying the Model S P90DL I have is a handling masterpiece, it is not. However I've only once yet had a bit of understeer out of it where as the RS6 & RS7 I had were understeer monsters. The Model S just has more grip in the corners, especially at the front end. Handling is subjective and people drive in different ways. I just think if you showed me a twisty A road or open B road I could get the Tesla down it much quicker. Not saying other better drivers wouldn't have a different outcome but I'd be surprised if they did.

Haha yes you are. I used to have a V10 RS6 with only 730hp, and then an RS7 with only 750hp, now a Tesla Model S. In my opinion the Tesla is much faster day to day and handles way way better and is more practical as a family car when I need it to be too. I'm a petrol head in terms of performance and the BEV gives me better performance in an every day car.I’d like to see it take on a proper RS6.
