I'm thinking one of these will be my first proper EV that i'll have to live with for 3 years.

I can't work out which one. The kia looks to have a little bit more range, while also possibly a little 'nicer' inside.

Is there a side by side anywhere?

This is about the best I've seen

All going to come down to which you prefer the style of both inside and out I'd have thought? Very different approaches, which makes sense as broadens the appeal.

I like the look of the 5, with the interior of the ev6. should be easy for them to offer that combo?! smile

Peeps, had a look at a real EV6 last night at our local Kia dealer. Looks like they are doing events around the country. OK, here are my personal thoughts. It's big, getting on for Audi A8 size, with 20" wheels. Quite aggressive in styling, I quite liked it, but the boss did not!

The one we looked at was in a matt silver, and it shows up the shut lines, which over the front wheel are not to good, and to be honest were not that even in places; not what i would expect on a car starting at £43K. Suspect that colour will be very important when choosing. The boot, although large has a very high floor, it's basically level with the base of the tailgate. The 2 wheel drive version gets 50 lires of front storage, 4 wheel drive will still have around 20 litres. The interior was OK, with plenty of space and a flat floor throughout, but again the stitching was not on par with our current BMW. As it was a launch event with lots of people there test drives etc. were not possible so unable to comment on how it goes.

However, it's a Kia and no doubt will be very reliable, but for these 2 pensioners, we will stick with our BMW 225XE and E46 Alpina B3S.

Cheers
Dave

Kia EV6

Length - 4680
Width - 1880

Audi A8

Length - 5172
Width - 2130

Not even close, in fact it's considerably smaller than an A6.

i bet its bigger inside, there is way more room inside a model 3 than an E Class

I think i'm going to wait for the ev6. Just looks like it'll feel a nicer place for the driver.

Gt-s, with the eco pack(heat pump).

Certainly a more traditional setup than the Ioniq inside.

AWD or RWD? I expect the RWD will have a decent amount of additional range?

I think they're all pre-production cars so maybe the finished products will be better finished.

Interesting post, thanks.

I currently run a 6 years old Audi A8 and I've struggled to find an EV which suits me and I'm hoping the EV6 is it. I have an appointment to view at the end of the month and so fingers crossed.

Badge doesn't bother me as long as the car stacks up.

How have you ordered the GT? There’s no pricing yet as far as I can see - only for the GT Line-S

Have I missed something?

I see lease prices are starting to come in for the EV6.

Current top of the range.

I’ve cancelled my Toureg R and I’m seriously considering a Ioniq 5 Project 45 - the VW is on 10 months lead time.

Has anyone ordered a Project 45 ?

I believe the order list was over subscribed by something like a factor of 10 across most countries so you'll have to be very lucky.

yeah, I think they're too expensive at the min. To say the car cost about £2k more than the ioniq 5, its a big difference in lease cost.

I’ve gone for matt gold project 45 October delivery. Close call between green or gold and didn’t want black.
Shame VW couldn’t deliver but hopefully I’ll get my deposit back without issue.
