Is it still the case that the biggest battery model only seats 4?
No, the Tour 5 corrected that nearly a year ago with an updated maximum load, which allowed a 5th seat and luggage to be included.
It still says "available with 4 seats only" on the UK configurator, and all the used examples on Autotrader only have 4 seats?

I saw it first announced in the German configurator, unsure why UK market hasn't been updated.

The most powerful version with the middle battery is £230pm including maintenance, servicing and tyres through Hitachi.

For that we're not expecting much other than cheap transport.

That said 200PS or whatever it is shouldn't be exactly slow and I'm sure it'll be quiet and comfortable enough.

I don't think there's anything else that can touch that for white goods motoring at the moment.
How does a Kona compare?
Kona makes coffee; ID3 is more like a fridge/washing machine. getmecoat

A bit disingenuous there perhaps? What deposit, length of contract and mileage does that cover?
No deposit.

3 years.

10000 miles.
That's a hell of a deal, yet to see anything close to that price other than for the base model with a large deposit and 5k miles.

All subjective, I find the MK8 nose dreadful and much prefer the ID3 personally.

The ID3 interior is not good however. Very fisher price/Vtech.

Are you sure? I’ve just had a look on hitachi’s website as it seemed too good to be true and I can’t find a deal anywhere close to that.

Based upon the initial reports of German ID.3 sales, it seems they are aiming the car at buyers who have never had a VW before (rather than VW Golf people switching to an ID.3)

"The VW sales chief shared demographics about ID.3 buyers. They are predominantly:

urban and suburban (not rural)
male self-described “techies”
buying the ID.3 as a second car for a household"

indeed. Cheapest ID3 is £265 a month on those terms, without VAT and with 3 months upfront. That's base spec, smallest battery.

£335 a month for personal with the deposit included across the term. £350 with the larger battery.

Dunno.

It's due to arrive in Jan, I'll let you know what turns up.

Edit. Just asked and apparently it's classed as a business lease. I don't know I've never bought a car another other way than handing over a big bunch of fives.

VW have completely lost the plot with their latest cars. Mk8 Golf is fugly and horrifically cheap and nasty inside, whilst having large price increases. I'd assumed it was to push people into the ID ranges but they're worse. They've obv lost so much money over dieselgate that they're trying every way they can to recoup it. That's their right of course but they've lost me as a customer. Skoda are producing much more appealing cars these days.

You obviously timed the deal perfectly. We did the same with the Tesla, goes back next month after 2 years and to replace like for like today would cost 75% more. eek

Sometime in March seems to be the common theme on the UK ID.3 FB group.
