It totally pains me to say it, i've given in and ordered a model 3 long range.

A combination of discounts on lease(its a company car), delivery time(4 weeks), together with range means its the only thing that would work for me. I really dislike tesla's, I dislike the build quality. I like the range.

The massive nudge is my own car having increased in value by 10k over what I paid for it 9 months ago, so the time feels right to make the jump.

Hopefully in 3 years, they'll be more options, shorter lead times.

Good choice. I've covered 17000 fun miles in mine since December. Next year I will be covering around 30k miles. The Supercharger network is the game changer and the reason I chose Tesla.

Welcome to the club thumbup

Teslas do seem to be strangely polarising for non-owners, more so than any other brand. Like any other brand, they have their positives and negatives, but once people experience them on a daily basis, most seem to see that the positives far outweigh the negatives.

I was excited but sceptical when I got my Model 3 Performance nearly 2 years ago and now, after 21k miles and despite the massive number of alternative EVs, when my lease is up in December next year, I am pretty sure I'll get another Tesla - probably a Model 3 Long Range or Model Y Long Range if they are available.

Haha, having read many of your comments on Tesla threads, I am very surprised!

Agree! Having been told my car is crap etc I did find this mildly amusing. But it is a lease car, not owned, so he can give it back when the lease it up and then carry on bhing about it hehe.

Every Tesla 3 I see looks old before its time. Doesn't look like something that would encourage pride of ownership. Dull colours don't help it.

You've made £10k in 9 months on a diesel Mercedes wagon? The worlds gone insane..

Amusing that you'll be getting yours at exactly the same time as ours goes back after all the sparring over the past couple of years. We're swapping for an eTron as range not an issue for us and fancy something more luxurious/comfortable, which ironically was always your complaint about the Model 3.

Enjoy. smile

Let's be honest here, until everyone, (not just people in the higher tax bracket or close to it) can afford a car like this, it is just a gesture and a certain way of doing things to make it beneficial to yourself or for tax reasons, as if you are leasing something you might aswell now lease something greener when you come to end of contract.

But until you get people buying second hand electric cars for less than 5 grand (a vast percentage of the market) it is still just a bit of a gesture

Do we really have to do this again? Please point out the post above where anyone suggests otherwise..

Totally. I did look at an etron, however with an order now, for the spec i'd like, it'd be May delivery.

It is bonkers about the e400d - Just seems like a sensible time to jump out. I'm hopeful the chinese made Model 3's will be a bit better screwed together than the US ones.

Mines US built and all good after 2 years and 18k miles. Think the build issues are rather over-egged TBH.

Imagine the range on the eTron would have been an issue for you anyway? I'm not expecting to average much over 200 miles from the 55 despite the big battery.

Ours still looks good after almost 2 years, but would agree that it's not a car I've every felt the urge to spend a day cleaning/polishing. Must say something as would usually always do that with a car kept for the sort of time we have had it..

It might have been on the edge, I was sad to see the ioniq 5 wouldn't do it. 200 miles of winter motorway is the dream, I think it'd be a years wait till there's something else.

the new bmw looks good for range, however the cost of 'extras' just made it a 'no' for me.
