Jaguar are advertising 2nd-hand iPaces on the radio atm with 2 years' warranty and free home charger - no mention of prices.
That'll be all the cheap 18-24 month, 5k per year lease deals they were offering back in 2019 on base spec S cars. Seem to remember there being some ridiculously low prices.SWoll said:

I was po seeing that lease seal the other week when looking at a used Ipace. At the time I could t u Der stand how you could get by on a deal of just 5k miles a year. Today, you have to question who knew we were about to have a bunch of lockdowns? DonkeyApple said:

In large part, thanks to this thread and the responses you've all given so thanks all.
Not that many about locally, but we can afford to be patient. Prefer battery only and not the 22kw, a range of 80-100 miles I think would be enough for 90% of our journeys.

Is an i3S in budget? That's probably the best version to go for if you can.
Your comment about only needing 80-100 miles range is spot on. There's far too much weight given to range in these sort of discussions. Just never been a problem for me in 4 years of weedy-ranged Leaf driving. I have my other petrol car for the occasional journey for which the Leaf isn't suitable.

That's a pretty safe expectation on range as well. I bought an 2016 33kw i3 Rex in August to have a go and its doing more than 100 miles per charge without giving any consideration to economy, heat etc.Not that many about locally, but we can afford to be patient. We've done it.
Just put a holding deposit down on a 2017 94ah REX, 26000 miles, from a main dealer - collection towards the end of the week.
Would have been happy with pure BEV, but wife concerns and the spec of this one swung it (parking pack, pro media and comfort pack).
Dealer sent me a screenshot of the batt.kapa.max at 29kwh (97%), amazing how well these things look after their battery.
Thanks for all the advice. PH is always great for this kind of stuff.

Hope you enjoy it.
I know someone who got an REX i3 for the same reason - Mrs needed the comfort blanket. 3 years later when they wanted a new car they traded it for a brand new BEV i3S because she'd realised she'd never once used the REX motor.
How do these engines hold up with never being used?I know someone who got an REX i3 for the same reason - Mrs needed the comfort blanket. 3 years later when they wanted a new car they traded it for a brand new BEV i3S because she'd realised she'd never once used the REX motor.
Tbh my chainsaw doesn't seem to care that much...

My chainsaw seems to get sniffy if the fuel's more than about 2 weeks old, temperamental old thing.
In Jan 2017 When I bought my car the Rex had never been used or done a maintenance cycle (was 2 years old with 800miles) it was sold at a Lotus dealer in Weston Super Mare, it has almost every option.
It drove most of the way home to Guildford fine, I used up the full tank of what had to be 2 year old petrol from 75% onwards.
About 15 miles from home I filled it up, the Rex failed to start again and I made it home on electric with less than 1%. I used 8% of the battery to do those 15 miles, luckily all back roads and not uphill.
Faulty injector was diagnosed and replaced under BMW warranty.
Since then it’s done 15k and the Rex runs it’s maintenance cycle roughly every 6-8 weeks.
Total miles on Rex - 630 (3x250 mile round trips) rest is just local.
Had a couple of other issues, noisy steering which was greased, AC lost some charge over lockdown and now it’s due the KLE recall.
I knew from the day I test drove it I had to have one (as a commuting car) because it’s just so unique and relaxing to drive. I’ve added spacers to improve the handling a bit and it feels more like an I3S now.
I actually missed it when I had to give it back after that test drive… never had that feeling.
Will likely never sell it, unless it’s for a newer one.

The earliest i3S (2018) came it at over £40k new, which means the Luxury Car Tax hits, meaning its £480/yr if you go for the Rex version
That feels like a hell of a hit for an EV?!
Yep, because it’s a hybrid. The BEV ones are all £0 tax regardless of list price. It sucks and I do wonder how used prices are impacted of those affected. That feels like a hell of a hit for an EV?!
Should be taking delivery of a brand new i3 shortly to replace our 2014 60Ah REx. Looking forward to it!
