Start with a low volume halo product to get things dialed in, then release a more mass market product?

The Macan EV is going to be announced some time in Q1 this year, with deliveries starting in Q4. Think they'll sell a few of them...
Given that the Taycan almost overnight nocked the 911 in to second place for their sports car sales, I expect you're right about the Macan! Which tbh kinda makes even more sense as an EV than the Taycan.

It might sound like blasphemy to many, but I actually think electrification suits the Porsche brand - from the point of view of the car design being dictated by the best engineering solution, even if not always conventional. I'm sure the Porsche community must be split on the matter though, they normally are smile

After seeing this photo of the Macan EV, I put an early deposit down for one:

(I am of course taking the piss about the pic, more here: https://insideevs.com/photo/6371289/2022-porsche-m... )

Would make sense, if they're anything like the Taycan they'll be selling for over list for quite some period post launch. Looked on the Porsche approved site the other day and they had a 2 year old, 30k Taycan 4S up for it's original list price including the options. Bonkers.

Long may it last as I'll be trading my Taycan in for it! Used prices are mad at the moment, our old 2.0 Macan depreciated by £5k in 3.5 years when we traded it in a month ago.

It beggars belief that one of the hottest cars to come out in recent times has effectively been 'free' for two years for the majority of buyers! Any Porsche still can't make them fast enough. Win all round I'd say biggrin
