Hi all - just wondering if anyone in the Orpington/Petts Wood area has a type 2 Mennekes cable they would be willing to allow me to use briefly - currently fault-finding (fast charge not working) and have narrowed it down to either car or cable (charging point is brand new) but with no errors on the car and 3-pin charging working I'm thinking dodgy cable. Beer/wine provided in recompense!

Thanks
Neal

If the granny charger is working then that implies cable problem - since the granny uses the same socket on the car.

If you have a multimeter check continuity on live/earth/neutral/control wires

Thanks - that was my logic too. I'll break out the multimeter.

Except Proximity Pilot (PP)... that doesn't connect end to end.

Right so all connections have continuity apart from "CP" (and PP as stated above).

So that's no good, right? Cable does work intermittently so I'm suspecting internal dodginess.

CP - Control Pilot should have continuity too.
It is the wire that carries the signal telling the vehicle the state of the charge cycle - with that open circuit, the EVSE won't (shouldn't) even close the contactor.

Thanks - that's exactly the symptom I get - intermittent non-closing of the circuit - just doesn't engage the charging cycle.
