Says it all really. What about Zanussi, Beko and Alba? Surely they will be next?

Hmph.

They'd be far better off getting their arses into gear and coming up with a new PS-X9 turntable for the 2020s. IMHO.

The Vision-S 01 looked like quite a nice bit of kit, quite a nice design for an EV. If they can nail the price point they'll sell a shedload.

Presumably they're buying the drivetrain in from another manufacturer? Can't imagine they'd develop their own.

Will it be like the PS5 and effectively be unobtanium unless you're prepared to pay some chancer on eBay a 50% premium?

It makes sense I guess. The ICE was probably what made cars different to other appliances.

Just what we need, more dull amorphous e-SUVs.

I like that, it is how the Panamera should have looked.

Add some real buttons and knobs to the dash & centre console we are good to go.

Apart from screen overload I think that looks pretty good for a first attempt.

Another car where "who cares how it drives, look at the screens it has"

Honestly, that's much better than I was expecting when I opened the link. Looks much better than a Tesla.

Looks like a Model S reimagined by, well, someone unimaginative.

2.35 tonnes. At least it won’t blow away in the wind.

Sony is a diverse business and sells a lot of different things to different markets. But cars? Mmm, nice idea and I am sure they bring a lot of design, engineering and electronics experience to the mix, but as an OEM? Thats a massive leap. Mmm, let me nip to the Sony store and pick up the latest noise cancelling headphones, a PS5 and a car..... not seeing it.

Maybe it will be 100% online? But they would still need the servicing, maintenance and repair network - something that even Tesla has struggled with in the past. I do wonder how Rivian and Lucid will deal with this in the coming months? Sony? Mmm, big challenges. Now, if they had something unique, that would be different - performance, style, luxury? Or try and punt a generic looking Tesla knock-off to the same market? Thats a tough sell.

I remember the mockery when Sony decided to take on the likes of Sega and Nintendo with their poxy games console. Stick to making Walkman we all laughed...

I'd say that screen/info tech and gadgetry are a massive part of the appeal of modern cars, so any tech giant probably has half a chance of putting out a great commercial product. They need to get the car bit right too... but that's so much simpler as EV compared to ICE.

I'm interested to see how this turns out smile

What constitutes an SUV these days?
Nothing about this is "SUV" to me.

I quite like it, at least it doesn't have one of those horrendously unnecessary grills.
