Anyone buying of these soon? I’m off to the dealer on Sunday for a test drive and to look at the prices.

I see the government have taken the subsidy down to 32k from 35k and reduced it to £1500 from £2500 off the asking.

The standard range now comes in under 32k but with 70 miles less per charge but I’m wondering if it even matters to me, I do about 3 trips a year over 100 miles so would be charging either battery option before the journey back tbh

I mainly want it for the 7 year warranty, no more petrol and a nice car the misses doesn’t have to worry about passing MOT’s every year. I have a works van so it’s perfect for her drive to work 10 minutes and the school run

Is this the suv one, have they not also just started selling an state electric?

I’m sure I saw it got a lot of praise for being what it said on tin, a simple electric estate car.

Sorry can’t help with mileage never owned an electric car. Would like to tho.

Thread for that car here:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Also recommend Petrol Ped on Youtube, he has a handful of honest videos on this car. It's not massively popular on here but I imagine it's more than adequate for most peoples' needs. It's a ICE car converted to EV so it was never going to be fantastic.

I've got the ZS LR, I've put about 500 miles on it so far. It's competant. Dynamically and aesthetically it's not going to set the world on fire but as a commuting tool I can't fault it.

The app is crap though, and there's no interior light in the back. Apart from that no issues so far.

Efficiency wise I'm averaging 2.7 miles per kw/h. I'm driving it normally and it's not exactly warm. Even with the LR though that's a range of 190 miles ish, so bear that in mind before going for the smaller battery. To be honest I could probably get 200+ if I was trying but I'm not paying for the electricity so I'm not bothered.

I'm going to try and write a review, but I was waiting till I'd out a few miles on it. Anything in particular you'd like to know?

Are you sure your average consumption of 2.7kwh/mile is correct as you would piss through your battery in about 26 miles if that were true?

Haha sorry, yeah on autopilot there. 2.7 miles per kwh/h. I'll edit it.

2.7 miles per kWhr is um...not very good.

Mrs Caziques Leaf is on 4.9, and my van is on 4. But of course it is summer here and with a small battery you get used to driving slowly.

These day I would go for the biggest battery you can afford, but in all honesty for most people 40kWhr is more than adequate.

Have you got the updated version? With the new grill design?
How was the delivery time? I’ve read a few forums of people saying april to may now, it’s not a big deal but it would be good to know a more exact date from the dealers.
What does the app actually do, have you had any sync issue connecting to your phone? I did read it has the warm up feature in the mornings, what does this do? Is it just for the battery or does it heat up the cab and turn on the heated seats as well or something?

Yeah Ive read most of that, the smaller battery seems adequate for most. Trying to see if anyone has ordered or bought the newer 2022 version and how it stacks up so far

Yes, I got lucky and had mine within a month of ordering. It arrived in December. The rest of the orders look to be coming in April, but no one seems sure yet. The app can preheat the cabin, open the car and generally see what state its in. Whether the windows are open or the alarms gone off, plus where its parked. The issue seems to be the provider they've used for the GSM connection. It's not great in areas with poor signal. Either that or their servers are pants. I had no issue syncing it to my phone, but others have.

In terms of efficiency I think whoever mentioned that answered their own question. We had a 24kwh leaf in the past and got similar figures. It's not a surprise. When you've got a tiny battery you really have to eke it out, you don't with this, so I haven't been doing. Hence the figure, so it really is the worst you're likely to see. I could probably doing 3.5 miles per kwh driving like I did with the Leaf.

From what I've seen when we looked at both, the (old) ZS EV is slightly less efficient than the Leaf but not much. I think when I drove them on very similar routes in similar weather the ZG reported 3.6 and the Leaf 3.8m/kWh. Something like that anyway.

Mines Battersea blue, it's the Trophy model.

Just for comparison, I drove more like I was driving an EV to work today, 18 miles of m6 3 miles of A road either end, got 3.3 miles per kw/h.

The blue looks lovely! The only thought I have about the blue is the possible resale value, I’m not sure if a standard grey would be more appealing by the time I come to sell, it’s my favourite option though!

It was a toss up between blue, red and black for me. To be quite honest the Mrs chose the blue, I was going to have black.

The blue looks much better in person. I'm not sure it'll make much difference for resale.

That’s a bit more like it, and ain’t half bad - considering the weather. 2.7 mpkw/h is a lot less than I am expecting. I’m hoping to eek a minimum of 3.5 out of it if/when I get mine. Still in two-minds due to increasing cost of electricity. I’m mainly going to charge at home which still isn’t going to save me that much over my 50+mpg diesel.

Blue looks nice. I went for white.

Went for a test drive, ticks a lot of boxes, cash price of £29,695 for the long range trophy or £33,495 interest free over 4 years with final payment.

Tough choice now ahead!

Affinity scheme? I guess they've Brought in the 0% finance to counter the loss of the plug in grant. It's 4.9% on mine, but the that's from a £29500 price after grants and discounts etc. By the looks of it that puts it within a couple of quid of that 0% deal over 4 years, depending on the amount of deposit obviously - and I did put a reasonable amount down to offset the interest.

No not in the affinity scheme, I think its locked in pricing from before the price increase for the on the road then they dropped the interest to keep people buying after the grant removal, not a bad deal really, I’ve got the cash so I might stump up the whole lot. Although the price bracket does put me into a lot of other cars. I’ve never bought a new car before so it’s kinda a big deal for me lol
