Yikes, not exactly a looker is it.

At least the build quality seems to be Tesla inspired!

Most people would probably drive past that assuming it was a Tesla

It looked portly to me. A bit bulbous.

Feel a little late to the party? I was always of the view they were more interested in licensing their battery/motor tech than building cars TBH.

Could easily have a Hyundai/Kia badge on it, although would need to be better assembled first. smile

Yep, it's a big car, too big mostly for the UK.

Is it actually a production car/customer car? or is it maybe a dev car?

On a similar note. I saw a Model Y in the UK yesterday. I didn't think they were available yet?

Smaller than a Model S and only slightly bigger than a Taycan apparently.

I've seen two on the road, both last week.

First batch of deliveries was weekend before last I think.

Yep, that's about when my neighbours (satin black) one appeared

Seems more like the panels aren’t even the right shape.

Must be a hard sell at $170k !

Seen a couple on SR-237 which makes sense given their location and access to other roads in the area.

As others have commented - its big, not massive, but big. Looks better in real life, but still think its very color dependent though. I am not sold on these weird metallic colors that seem to be popular. Did see a black one with a silver roof, which did look much better though.

I havent had the chance to check what the gaps are, but those photos do look bad. It could have been a pre-prod model, so I will wait to judge. Technically they could put a MFG plate on it, but I believe that both Lucid and Tesla just register them and get a real plate to avoid any confusion.

From what I have seen though, most of the reviews (including owners) have suggested that there is room for improvement, but rate the ride, interior materials and overall comfort. They pick out that it does feel 'luxury' in a way that a Model S isnt. At $70k-$90k it might be good, but at $170k? Yeah, I am not seeing that at the moment. Merc S-classes start at $100k and easily get to $150k - but are much better built, have much more in terms of luxury and quality materials too. But, if Lucid can get customers to spend that type of money for the exclusivity and early access, great for them.

Seen about 20 at Superchargers in the last week, helped one guy charge his who had no idea how to do it. Still find them a bit odd to look at having got used to the Model 3,

They are opening a Lucid dealership in my local mall. Ironically in the old Tesla location that was made vacant by Elon closing locations. They have had 4-6 Lucids for months before the opening date parked in a hidden away parking lot where the staff normally park which has given me the chance to walk around them. I don’t have huge feelings either way on them.

A friend had a Taycan S with a planned swap date for august to Lucid. That fell apart when the Taycan was written off with the payout being more than he paid for the car. He is currently borrowing his sons car until delivery of the Lucid.

Incidentally, I have a friend at Polestar who knew about Tesla exiting and Lucid taking the space in the mall a long time ago and he is based in Sweden. This was the first east coast Tesla location and was part of Teslas being everywhere around here. 50% of the houses on my street have a Tesla.
