Really nice colour, shame they ditched it.
It’s back. Along with some others.

Wow, nice.. thanks for the heads up.

I sat in a EV6 GT-Line which was nice, if a little overwhelming in terms of controls coming from a Model 3. Felt a lot better put together though.

EDIT: Apropos of nothing but that's a nice XR2 in @JonnyVTEC's photo too, that must be worth a fair bit in its own right. Can spot an Escort Cosworth too love

Yes, my last car was a model 3 and the EV6 is certainly a better built car. I am enjoying having actual buttons though and the HUD is great.

Talking of VTEC.... I do have an S2000 tucked up in my garage!

I took mine on a trackday at Brands Hatch,

It was a lot of fun and coped very well, it even had enough charge left to drive home afterwards, arriving with all of 4 miles to spare.

Ah right, basically the same as me then (2020 M3P).

How are you finding the performance of the GT by comparison? Is the software alright?

From my limited time sitting (not driving) in the GT-Line, I kinda feel like everything bar probably battery efficiency is probably better in the EV6.

I chuckled at you listening to Radio 4 or whatever while on the track like you were popping to the shops.

The performance is great! I think the M3P would have the jump off the line but not by much and once moving the EV6 feels faster.

Now I have got my head round the software it's pretty good. Obviously has the benefit of CarPlay too. I have bought an android box and plugged that in that gives access to Netflix, Prime, iplayer etc and adds wireless CarPlay too.

Overall I much prefer it and the efficiency isn't that much different to the M3P.

Thanks.

The value on my M3P has dropped off a cliff since last year, which I guess you know about anyway. Basically lost £20k in the space of a year. I know prices were funky last year with parts shortages, but even so it does change my attitude towards keeping it.

Would quite like to get a weekend loan of a EV6 GT to get a proper feel for it, but don't think this would be realistic. My local Kia dealer hasn't even had one come in I don't think.

Yep. I think you are going to struggle to get one for an extended test drive. First one I drove was mine!

I'm allergic to Facebook I'm afraid, but feel free to link it if you want to Ross.

My regular track car would have been lethal in those conditions so I thought 'why not?' and the EV6 was incredible on track, really good fun.

Personally I'd have gone for Dance of the Valkyries

Great video.

Who said EVs are boring.

Classic fm smile

The funny thing is that without the engine noise you hear all the marbles from the track pinging against the bottom of the car, it’s shocking how much rubber is left behind (most of it probably from the day session with people on track tyres.)

Wow, they’ve finally released some more colours. I might get a red one next (I put an order for another one when I picked up mine so I could recycle them as they are trading pretty much at list. I ppfd mine to keep it mint.)

Are there any other changes?

Tidy Lapping! the 6GT hooks up well in the damp conditions, and punches well above it weight! pardon the pun...smile

I do fancy one of these, when its time to change my M3P.

Gave mine a run out on a wet trackday, you do feel the weight in the fast corners but it was still fun.

Someone at Kia (or their media company) has a sense of humour.
The strap-line on their ads is "Taking the lead" - somewhat essential in an EV.
