We’ve recently got a Nissan Leaf and complimented it with an Ohme Home Pro charger. The leaf is great but the Home Pro is causing a lot of issues.

We’re on octopus go and have our cheap energy between 12:30 and 4:30 overnight. As we do so few miles in the leaf I expect the four hours of overnight charging to supply most of our needs but it often doesn’t. Most nights I get an alert on my phone to tell me the car is charging slower than expected as below.

My calculations suggest the car is charging at 4kw instead of 6.6kw.

This has been happening since we got the car a couple of weeks ago and my research has found a few people online, with a range of different cars who have the same issue.

I’ve contacted Ohme for support but got nothing back yet.

I’m running out of ideas as to how to solve this. Does anyone else have any suggestions or experience of this?

It's a car issue, not a charger issue. The car decides how much to take. Try the Leaf FB pages rather than the charger owners.

Ah useful, thankyou. I'll add that to the list of groups to look at when the one who has facebook gets home.

It may be a combination of the 2, I find I need to reset mine before using it.

Reset it each time you plug in? I’m not sure I could stomach that!

I would echo the car issue, had a similar problem with my Mii and not charging at full speed.

The fix was simple, go in to the app where it is set to full speed, set it to something less, save, set it back to full, save. This then pushed the right setting to the car and it fixed it.
