Thanks so far, if I buy the car offered it will arrive in the next couple of weeks, will plugging it into the wall work while I wait to have a charger installed?
Plugging into a regular socket will give you roughly 10/11 miles of range per hour of charging.... a 7kw 32amp connection roughly 31 miles of range per hour.
It depends on the car efficiency, later cars it's probably right, some earlier cars, etrons etc probably not

A Tesla MX will be more like 6 miles (granny) or 17 miles (home charger point) per hour, my old Model S was 10 and 21, and the miles are theoretical miles, in practice both those figures would be about 20% down in real world use.

Only saying this because if people are doing calculations it might make a difference.

I didn’t see anyone mention home charging tariffs.
Several companies offer a night time low tariff.

I’ve been paying 16.7p day and 5.5p night per kWh.
The night charge has been 8:30pm to 1:30am.
With the price increases, mine has just gone up to 42p day and 8.2p night
Night period has changed to 9:30pm to 2:30am.

Clear benefit of only charging during the low cost 5 hour period.
We obviously also run washing machine, dish washer etc., during those hours.

I did 800 miles recently through France and it couldn’t have been easier. Set the destination and let the car do the rest. Turn up at the charger pull the connector out, push the button and plug into the car. Nothing else needed to be done.
