Anyone got one of these yet? The reviews look very impressive.
Looking at possibly switching my Tesla Model 3 Performance for one. I'll lose some acceleration, but it looks like I'll gain a whole bunch of tech that actually works. I'm a bit sick of the basic stuff (headlights, wipers, etc) being a pile of crap.
Was looking at a matte grey one but looks as if that paint isn't available anymore (I guess it's a lot more work to keep in good condition).
Anyone had an extended test drive of an EV6? Keen to get a good feel for it on a commute, etc.

Dont think they have landed in the UK yet they just did the launch thing in July In europe.

Yup, it's probably circa £10k for me to change, maybe a little more. Looks like a hell of a car though and I'll be honest - I'm smitten.
My M3P is crazy fast, Autopilot is good but nowhere near as effective as everyone else thinks it is (my work colleagues all think my car drives me to and from work with me just sat there) but the reality is considerably different. Realistically since Tesla doesn't give a crap about Europe, and regulations, it's not going to change over here for years. More and more I feel like I'm just paying a premium for the brand without anything to actually show for it (i.e. not like Apple kit, which is actually good).
The basic stuff is either missing or hopeless. I actually hope I never have to carry anyone at night in the rain because I would be completely embarassed by it. The auto wipers and headlights are not fit for purpose. Other stuff you'd expect at the price point is completely absent.
Battery efficiency differences aren't too much of a concern for me, as I don't do many miles. The GT range would be more than enough. To be honest I could easily be convinced that Kia's quoted range is accurate and Tesla's is way off. Mine nominally has a range of 305 miles at 100% but I would be amazed if it actually did that, even in the summer.
7 year warranty on the Kia speaks volumes.
Only significant concern I have is exaggerated depreciation. Teslas don't depreciate very much, because of the aspirational value. I have zero experience of Kias but I would presume that they would track with a more traditional depreciation curve?

I couldn't even get the configurator to work on the website earlier today, just doesn't work on the "Design" step. Managed to try one out on the Belgium website, and as you say it seems like you can have any colour you like as long as its black or white. I thought Tesla were bad for colours...
I ordered one early on and have just been told that it should be with me in a couple of months.
The thing is, I finally got to drive a regular AWD model having previously driven the RWD one. The dealer was good enough to just give me the keys and said ‘be back by lunchtime’ so I had a good go.
It’s seriously nice, so refined, comfortable and handles very well. I even thought to myself ‘well given it’s just the GT line model it’s pretty quick.’ Then I realised that it had been in normal mode the whole time. I found a quiet bit of road, flicked it into sport and floored it. It’s insanely quick, actually quite frightening when you realise you have 2 tonnes to stop. My weekend car is a BAC Mono and hand on heart this thing takes off in a similar fashion, crazy.
My dilemma is that I really am not sure I want/ need the extra performance of the GT having experienced the regular one. The GT is only £3.5K more though which seems very good value.

Dealer has told me that the matte silver colour is a limited run initially to the UK and should be available to a few who ordered early.
It takes Kia x4 times longer to paint apparently and with a large pre-order, its not worth them doing silver when they can shift other colours out more quickly to try and meet demand.
I'm on my 2nd Tesla Model 3 Performance so still unsure whether to swap into the GT, cancel the pre order or even take it then sell it on.
I do like the Tesla but having some extra space in the rear for 3 kids when needed is tempting - plus keeping the speed.
I should add, I only charge mainly at home and if i relied on public charging, theres no way i'd be trading in the Tesla as 2+ years in, I don't see any real improvement in the public charging network. If anything, its getting worse due to more EVs on the road now and I see buying an EV right now as an overal package rather just the 'better' car.

My solution is simply as you can't use the speed on public roads, you may as well have the GT. I think the ev6 will be even quicker in the real world. Given over a 1/4 mile from a standing start the model 3 performance only gains a car length over the long range version. Add to the fact you get buttons, stalks etc. it'd be a no brainer.
Was close to a Kia dealer today so went over to see if I could sit in one of these. Was told there’s only 2 in the country (maybe world?) so wouldn’t be possible to see one let alone actually sit in one.
Managed to sit in a GT-Line S that was there, which I assume is basically the same thing in terms of overall ergonomics. Was a nice place to be and could already feel that the fit and finish, and the materials, were noticeably better than my M3P. The 7 year warranty was very reassuring.
Biggest disappointment was being told that not only is the matte grey unavailable - probably indefinitely - but there is only TWO colour options you can order currently, white and black. I think I would’ve gone with the Yacht Blue if the grey wasn’t available.

Its a sad day though when the only colours that are available are black, white and grey.
I’ve taken the only decision I can. While I still think the GT might be a bit over the top , I’ve kept my order for the GT in black hopefully arriving in a month or so and also ordered a GT line S in red. I went to cancel my original GT order but when the dealer offered to buy it off me above list I realised I should keep it for now!
