Never understood this viewpoint.

It really benefits the manufacturer rather than the consumer as offers simpler production and can often leave people paying for optons they don't want in order to get ones that they do?
it also helps keeps all their prices lower due to the process.

For anyone expecting a EV6 GT in December how much are you expecting to pay? The advertised price when it could be pre ordered was something like £58295 but now seems higher?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I was in the very earliest tranche but my order is fixed at £59k with delivery Dec 20th (although I’m tempted to tell them to wait till Jan 2nd to register it so it’s a 2023 car)

I hate to break it to you but it’s March 1st when the plates change.

Second time I've seen someone say this today.

As you say no one cars if a car was registered onw year compares to the next when the plate will be the same.

With no running in period, how long before you try the 3.5 second 0-60? smile

Damn right biggrin

I know with modern ICE cars you don't really need to run them in either... But you still have the issue of driving a cold engine hard and anyway, for that exact reason modern ICE cars don't even give you full boost and/or rpm until warmed up.

That seems like a lifetime ago now. As does waiting for a 3 litre diesel engine to get warm enough to heat the cabin in the winter... It's definitely better to have all of everything the moment you jump in.

Still need to warm the tyres and I saw many now quoting 3.4sec 0-60!

And also wear off the tyre moulding compound potentially! Petrol Ped got 3.2 something and a dude in Korea got 2.99!

I'd be a tiny bit cautious of the 2.99 that came from the country that build the car...

But in general pretty much all performance EV's seem to beat their claimed 0-60, except Tesla... I suspect this has a lot to do with the other manufacturers wanting to keep their ICE range competitive(ish) in speed terms for the time being. Tesla of course doesn't have that concern so tends to focus heavily on showing off the fastest possible 0-60 times they can demonstrate their cars achieving.

I've also seen a fair few EV's hit the dyno and reveal way higher torque than rated.

Had mine since Jan and love it!

Did a 2,700 mile road trip in Europe a few weeks ago and the car performed brilliantly.

Anything in particular you want to know?

How's the driver's seat comfort? Lacking power assistance and memory are deal-breakers for me, but I'm v. curious about the seat itself?

What's been surprising to you about the car, good or bad?

Both front seats are very comfortable. Brilliant on long journeys. My wife and I spent many hours in them on our road trip without issue. Power / memory not an issue for me as there is only me that drives it.

They also held us in nicely on our lap of the Nurburgring!

Positive surprises:
- How fast it will charge (on the right charger). 17-18 mins will get from 10-90%.
- The infotainment / nav is actually better than I expected. Really useful info like live charger availability.
- Lots of gadgets!

Negative ones:
- Initially the sound system was disappointing, But I upgraded the sub to an active one and now it is actually very good.
