Coming out of a c class I can’t find anything else I like.

Not a fan of the Etron, can’t stand the Teslas - don’t like the I pace shape so this ticks the box.

I don’t need a massive 300+ range and got a deal for a 6 month old Premium Plus car for under £50k
If the only thing you don't like about the iPace is it's shape, you should probably drive one - you might find out there's a reason for it's shape and a reason to like the way it drives very much as a result wink

Before I got the iPace I tested an etron and also an EQC, both felt fairly comparable, I preferred to EQC, felt smarter inside and out - also better infotainment. But overall the iPace blew them both away.

Just my 2 pence worth - obviously they're all very nice cars, nice places to spend time in.

Picked up a 73 plate with 19 miles on it last week. Very pleased so far although not been on a long run, and still need to work out some of the customisations. On experience up to now drives very nicely, quick when I poke the pedal, comfy and very quiet.
Range is low just now in mid-winter Aberdeenshire, and the indicator seems to overstate the potential, but I guess that should sort itself a little. No rapid charger at home yet so using a granny charger I needed to purchase separately as MB are too tight to provide one.

There are many ‘73 pre reg to pick from. These EV factory bosses must be worrying as the stash of unsold motors grows. From the leasing market you can see that people will buy if priced appropriately. They have to be the same PCM as an ICE or interest, in the private sector, just isn’t there. Media are killing EV’s at the moment.

£25k off the asking price might have softened the blow...

Well 33 as it happens, but even full price you don’t get one!

I’d be interested to understand other owners driving styles as both the wife and I struggle to get over 150 the past few months.

We sit around 80 on the motorway, heater and a/c on, drive set to D-Auto and occasionally drive it quickly where we can. Usually journey is across country, Lakes to NE so overtaking slower cars on a roads.

I have noticed that having the heater on uses approx 24 miles of range based on 100% charge.

A lot of Chinese cars have been recalled due to coolant leaks. Ours isn’t and cap has been replaced 3 times. Garage can’t seem to understand the issue.
Over 2,000 miles I have averaged 2.3 miles per kwh in mixed driving with a heavyish right foot giving me 180 miles of range. On a cold day on the motorway about 150/160 therefore sounds about right.

In my Polestar I was averaging about 3.1 miles per kwh giving me about 230 miles range with the same driving style and that was a 2020 pre-facelift before they got more efficient.

The efficiency is crap being honest but I knew that when I ordered it and the 180 real world in colder conditions is fine for my needs as I don't need to use public chargers.

Are these still available new? I can't see any lease deals available at all on Lease Loco. Very tempted to get one but prefer to get one new on Lease rather than a year old on PCP.

Wouldn’t bother leasing one of these for more than £400pm.

Also don’t look at a year old one - very sparse on spec as Mercedes cut it during covid.

A 19-20 plate Premium or Premium Plus has all the goodies

Thanks for your help. Sorry I may chatting to you on the lease thread? There doesn’t seem to be any new available for lease anyway - have they been discontinued? 2020 seem to be around £25k but prefer newer and still in warranty to be honest.

The reality is I probably need to look for something else unfortunately.

MBUK have possibly stopped importing them as they seemed to have cleared all their stock through lease deals as they were white elephant cars that nobody was buying at £81k. I know they’re up to be discontinued for a new EQC this year.

If you check Autotrader for the newest “AMG Line Premium” car possible with Burmester, those will be the last of the cars before spec cut. Prem Plus always had that system.

An alternaitve is the Audi E tron 55. Cracking deals going on those with slightly better RW range.

Thanks. Taken a look, there's plenty of 23 plates, premium, hardly any mileage from about £42k. Wonder if any chance of further discount on these?

Do you know what sort of prices for the e-tron. New lease seem expensive.

I'm just over 2 yrs into a 4yr lease with Octopus and still loving mine.

Stats for me are;
18246 miles
30 days 6hrs and 5 mins of driving time
Average speed of 25mph
Average consumption 2.0 mpkWh

I find it massively comfortable, great for both town and motorway use. The B-roads I need to swap into sport suspension to stop the wallowiness if i'm pressing on as i've had the back wheels off the ground a few times over dips in the road which can be interesting.

I live in Aberdeen so the ave temp up here is clearly lower than further south and it shows on the range.
Best range ive seen was 221 miles, in summer i see around 200 during June, July and Aug but then more commonly 180-190 and then lowest about 165 in dead of winter.

However for my use that's fine. My commute is 5 miles each way daily.
When i do longer runs it's typically to Edinburgh which is 120 miles away so a short charge there and i'm home fine.

I have done the run to Goodwood a couple of times and will be doing so again in a few weeks. The overall journey was 1hr 40mins longer than had i been in an ICE car but timing my charges with lunch and dinner stops it really didn't feel like i was losing time at all.

I came out of an SQ5 which i loved as it was quick and handled well but I genuinely put the EQC above it in terms of and overall performer.

When i come to replace it i'll likely go with something else from the EQ range but the Macan EV is definitely catching my eye.

In terms of the financial side of things i felt that owning an EV was going to be a risky prospect given the penalties of being an early adopter usually. The lease I have with Octopus is great as i needn't worry about the end value at all.
Just to answer some comments below my driving style is just as it would be in an ICE car. I'm never thinking about consumption around town.
On motorway runs i sit at 77 unless getting south of the border when that feels a very pedestrian pace so up that to 85.

I tend just to run in D mode for driving but on longer runs will put into D Auto.

AC always on and set between 19 and 21.

That's really it.

Don’t know about lease but Audi were doing insane PCP offers.

Couple of people on the leasing thread have these deals (2021/22 cars on PCP deals) :

£500 deposit
£290/mo x 23
8k pa

Free charger
Service plan

OK thanks for your help. Can't find anything anywhere near 9+23 for £400 per month that is a certainty! - I'd even consider paying that for a used never mind new. Vertu have several 73 plates for around £43k but APR is high.

Looks like back to the drawing board. If anyone finds anything please just let me know. Thanks anyway.

The Audi deal no longer exists, they were giving something like a £2.5k finance contribution.

I think they are still giving £500 contribution as well as 2 years warranty and servicing, good deal, but not the previous amazing deal.

Got my extended warranty paperwork through today.

£432 for a year
£737 for 2 years
Or £40 per month

This is comparable with my old C300 coupe.
