Seen this sport-ish Dutch car?

Carise Cars, CARICE TC2 from 590kg lightweight full EV , ok in the pictures it needs a bit up at the rear a few cm, but for a new handmade car, not bad, I wish them well.

I'm not a EV car, but looks like fun if its that light from 590kg and the price not bad about 53k euro incl 21% btw

Probably they will make more models if they go well I guess, maybe some coupe's?

it give's a bit Porsche 356 vibes, not bad. also some former Dutch supercar vibes with the dash ala Spyker did.

My screensize meant I saw your post text and that first pic before I scrolled and it promised so much, then the second pic came into frame :/

Sort of a Frogeye Sprite/Porsche 356 vibe with a bit of 80s kit car, probably pretty good fun, but 51 grand....

You could buy 3 kits cars and a frog eye sprite and have electric motors put in all of them and still have change.

It looks a bit mediocre to me.

lol, but that is what you as a driver sees when your driving, others see the outside ;-) which I think is not bad, its small like they built cars in the past, but then with modern safety and strenght, all that 590kg from a EV is pretty impressive those days.

That was my first thought and then saw the suspension set up. Looks like the development has not quite been finished....

Dashboard looks a bit shiny, driving with roof down and sun behind might be interesting.
But in spite of niggles, isn't light and fun what is missing from most new cars today?

As someone who owns almost excluisvely ugly cars I agree entirely! Just wasn't what I was expecting from the first pic! I bet it's a lot of fun and woud love a go!

that color also not helping it, also needs a bit higher at the rear, then maybe the front falls in line, that looks a bit high, specially when you look at the rear... maybe to soft springs were the battery's are?

but, I think the base is promising, low weight EV, the outside can be made totally different for the next models I guess/hope, at least I guess they made it a (forgot how they call such multi platvorm) but say like some other car makers use the base for more and different models, so the 'shell' /coat (what you look at outside) can be very different.

of course I think say the new Caterham EV car is way more beautiful, but thats a different leak.

The front and rear need something more. A car from the period they're referencing would have chrome bumpers with some overriders. It's also not the smallest thing out there going by the pic of the two fellows. It's also very light for an EV - how did they achieve that light weight?

Retro cute pastiche for sedately trundling around in. I like the lightness and the unassisted steering. I hate the styling. It’s got the power to weight ratio of a Nissan Leaf, so I suspect the reason the manufacturer doesn’t quote acceleration times is that they’re rubbish.

I’m sceptical that there’s anything sporting about it, seems to me that this fits into the space which might otherwise have belonged to a Copen, a 2CV, a Beetle convertible, a Morgan, a Micra CC. Or the sort of nostalgic but objectively crap classic sports car people polish and hold up the Sunday traffic with. Can’t see this as a rival for a used Lotus or a new Caterham.

I saw this at the Everything Electric Show at Excel recently. Looked super cute, walked over and it looked like one of those half scale cars.

Admittedly i'm 6'4, but I'm fairly slender and there was just no way i was fitting, bugger all room inside at all. Shame really as the Dutch are quite a tall nation! I guess they have to keep the weight down somehow.

It's got a 20kWh battery and a real world range of < 100 miles as standard, a top speed of 70mph and when you need to recharge it the maximum it will accept is 7kW so a 3 hour wait.

"The Ultimate Freedom" apparently.

You'll be able to pedal it when the battery is flat.

Joking aside, it's a lovely looking thing if you've got money to spend on jewellery. The love child of a Frogeye Sprite and a Copen, especially with those lovely Minilites.

The cockpit looks like a fabulous place to be, (admittedly not for very long with that range) but the handbrake looks a bit awkward, even if it's not much of a stretch in such a small car. It has an actual handbrake! Brilliant! I'm easily pleased. smile

590Kg? The battery in our car weighs nearly that much. Future battery tech. ought to be able to double that range without increasing the weight.

I live in hope, however they had better hurry up as I'm getting on a bit. hehe

Edit.
Just spotted the charging cable channel - would that be watertight on the move I wonder. It does avoid having an obvious charge port on the jelly-mould bodywork that looks like it would be a pleasure to wash, polish and wax.

I'll stop there before I reveal how much time I spend cleaning cars...
