Right ! We have just tried to walk through the Tertre rouge gate with 1 crate of bottled beer and 1 of cans. They said yes to cans and no to bottles..... SO it seems cans only, no bottles.

That's been the case for years. It has been written on the back of the general entry tickets for the last dozen years I've been going.

It May have been but certainly hasn't been an actual law nor enforced. We are here now and there are lots with bottles and lots with none. Good news is that the leader price is selling 500cl kegs for less than 6 euros!

I camped for 4 years and have done the last 3 (4 as of next week) in hotels. There's no comparison. A very wise man said tents are for earthquake victims and refugees biggrin

I'm not disagreeing with you, but there is always the possiblity that they're fed up with having to clear up tonnes of broken glass because lazy people can't be bothered to go and find a bin.

I still get the atmosphere whilst being at the circuit (I usually walk most of the campsites during the weekend). Then I can go soak in the bath and sleep in a real bed before going to get some more "atmosphere". Oh... And I can drink out of a glass bottle! tongue out

Of course the danger with banning all alcohol from Le Mans is that we brits might wake up to the fact that the actual racing bit is a teensy bit boring actually, and not bother going again...
I bet when campsites fill up with Germans the French will want us back !!

Well the van is all loaded and I cannot get another beer can in!!Which is great because I won`t need the tent as everybody else seems to be the "earthquake victims" and I will be staying in a nice, plush hotel when I`ve made a load of profit on my canned beer sales. That`s of course if they let me on the ferry in the morning.Overloaded,me sir,no sir, no beer bottles at all.Yeehah!!

Is the 4% rule on beer being enforced as discussed ealier on? Cos were thinking kegs of Desporado will solve the problem.

We#ll have to copy the Ozzys and start burrrying the beer a week before like they do at Bathurst!
