on the thursday drive down, i was overtaken by a blue Aston Martin on the N138, not sure which model, it was going that fast. i was doing about 70 and it went past me as if standing still. about 1/2 mile along the road it was stopped with a very unhappy policeman waving a finger at the driver. does any one know what happened, is he sans license or sans car?

Dunno if it was the same one as we saw, but we got pulled over by les gendarmes on the N138 I guess about 10 miles south of Rouen. We had a silver 911 turbo and a DB7 (think it was dark blue) behind us when we pulled out to overtake a lorry on a longish straight with a sort of double dip in it. My mate was driving the Ultima at the time and booted it to get past. We dropped the 911 and Aston, pulled in then they were catching us when we spotted the BiB at the top of the hill stepping into the road to flag us down.

As we came to a stop they seemed more interested in the 911 and the Aston and waved us on. We didn't hang around to find out what was happening! We later reckoned it wasn't speed related as we saw no gizmos there, but think that the other guys had crossed the solid white line whereas we'd tucked back in in time.

PS I couldn't believe how easy the ten or so S2000s were to overtake on Thurdsay, you guys really need passengers and those with passengers need ones that are more aware of how fast your cars can overtake

Jonathan,

your passenger obviously failed to observe the oncoming artic... and the transit pulling out onto you at bottom of the hill! Really thought we were going to see you coming back in the opposite direction quicker than you went down... everyone in front of us hit the brakes in anticipation.

Well, I was relying on my passenger, a TVR driving pansy who bottled at almost every opportunity

Ended up just looking for myself....

I was passenger in a 993, part of a convoy of 5 911's and a Boxster. We arrived in France very early on Thurdsay and "my" car was only overtaken by one car tho whole day.

We're knocking on 145 mph, uphill on the M/way south of Rouen in the wet, when flashing headlights force us to move over and a Fxxxing RANGE ROVER went past us like we're going backwards!!

It sounded like it had an airplane engine in it, and certainly sounded supercharged, 2 huge great drainpipe exhausts sticking out the side.

Did anyone else see it, know what it was??

BTW we didn't see a single cop on Thursday, but Monday was a different story........
