One of the Bristol Tivs (Joe) was travelling behind the Tuscan when it flipped. It hit standing water, spun, hit oncoming traffic, went into the ditch and rolled!!!!!

Serious brown trouser moment for Joe doing his best to avoid the carnage.

Tuscan occupants went to hospital for a scan and were pronounced OK. They then carried on down to Le Mans!

It did all that except hit on coming traffic.
It was on a dual carriage way and hit the very new green Audi A6 in the slow lane next to it.

I remember a caravan on UK plates on its side still attached to its car with the French old bill in attendance with a very bemused looking driver, this was on an otherwise deserted toll road.

Saw a couple of broken Boxsters, but other than that thankfully nothing serious, although there were a couple of Porkers on the way down on the N138 that seemed to be playing Russian roulette.

We saw a silver Tamora drive past us whilst eating in Arnage on Sunday night and then come back crunched on a low loader 30 mins later.
Got the plate but wont mention it here in case you dont want anyone to know!
Hope it all went OK for you.

Unless there were two of them, it was a dark grey Tamora with red leather IIRC. It had damage to the front and back corners...

Was I inside raiding the buffet when all this was going on??

Probably . The Tamora went up and down the main road through Arnage a couple of times. A low loader pulled up to the junction by the pub where we went to watch the footy about 5 mins before kick off with the rather worse-for-wear car on thw back...

What DJ says is correct, the reason I noticed is because the car had a very familiar plate.

Did you raid the buffet too cuzza?
It was a pretty good one for starters.
I took one of the snails. Not being sure how to eat them I just took it out the shell and chewed it. Was I supposed to swallow it in one?
It tasted like it looked, rubbery.

We ended up in a different bar to you guys, so maybe that's why I missed the low loader.

The food was tops - a good way to end the weekend

I left the snails alone - been there before :yuk: You're supposed to remove the foot before you eat it as it's very tough. Unfortunately Mike and Rob beat me to the table so the choice was limited

I think I was in a different bar again! I was in the one on the same side as the resturaunt but other side of the roundabout.
Table service for beers was pretty good there.

I was glad to see that everyone stayed calm when England lost. I thought I was gonna have another moment of wishing I wasnt English.

There was a Boxster which ended up in a ditch in Beausejour camp site in the middle of the night when the driver was trying to do donuts without checking the terrain first!

I'll have a search through my photos but I've got a feeling we only just had enough time to remember the plate and see the PH stickers as at the time we were 'making good progress' towards the ferry.

Saw a yellow Ultima on the Rouen/Boulogne road receiving attention. Assumed the engine had gone pop.

Later saw it on the back of a transporter. Looked expensive. Anyone from here??

Yes it was mine unfortunately. The Chevy gave up for no obvious reason, other than running a little hot due to the weather. Was taking it easy too.
Took the injection unit and heads off lastnight to find the carnage. poth pistons shattered and con rods destroyed. Still doesn't really explain why though.

New short block to order but the heads are ok to reuse fortunately. Keep me busy for the next month or so.

Nice Noble by the way, I think I saw you going down too didn't I? I was following a bike and a Red Griff.

Should be ready and willing for next year.

Cheers

Pity about your yellow Ultima GB. I was aware of only 3 yellow Ultimas at Le Mans this year, all at Chanteloup. I know one got back ok. Do you have the gtr number plate or are you a 4th yellow Ultima?
Hope the engine rebuild goes ok. I had a similar engine experience in my Ultima last year, real downer to have a problem that week of all weeks.

On the two journeys to and from the circuit many cars came belting past us in our larrylemans camper, and many cars we did we re-pass broken down on the side of the road. The ones that break down are always the ones that fly past narrowly avoiding the Truck on the other sidev of the road what a coinsidence. Does make us chuckle (only in jest)the other great thing about the camper is it only uses half a tack for each journey!!! so it only costs us about 50 quid in fuel for both trips!!!
