Was hoping to run on the sunday when the big boys have had their turn already. If either of us run on the saturday it will just be embarrassing

whats the on paper figures? there cant be much in it? Driver technique/wheelspin/additional weight of lager would surely cover the difference roughly wouldnt it?

who cares, I dont mind win or lose, I just fancy a go at it

Nor me - looking forward to running a car on the strip. I think it should be close too - are we going to video this for PHTV?

Paper figures for Chim 400 are 0-60 = 4.7, 0-100 = 12.1. Elise is 0-60 = 5.7, 0-100 = 17.2

I think the 0-60s are probably closer than that, it'll be in the second half you'll do me - we'll see, should be fun!

i think you'll find the paper figures for the chim are rather optimistic as against those for the liz to be fair. Many people have said that before....

I dunno a average chim 400 should do it in 4.9's?? with good start?
dad timed his at 4.69

what did he use to time it with?

Tony's chim did 0 - 60 in 11.4 seconds flat out

I reckon it will be better to do our runs on Saturday afternoon. There will be more crowds around on Sunday to point and laugh!

Last year they had the proper set up (timing gear, lights, bloke on a tannoy etc). Apparently this year they will also have a time display board.

Got my Thorney ticket through yesterday

Maybe we should get the bloke on the tannoy to shout 'Look, an eagle!' just as the lights go green?

Come on Claire - if we're prepared to face the humiliation, I think some oithers should too.

good idea mate. "and if everyone looks to their left they will see the Dokic family" - then boot it up the straight....

Not sure if Claire's up to taking the S on the track at the mo - or indeed whether the cars up to going on the track at the mo. Its currently garage bound awaiting the delicate touch of andy at apm - as is mine! Mine is booked in with Andy and ordered some fantastic suspension set up which I am really looking forward to. Have always left standard suspension on both Tivvers despite thinking it was crap. The bump steer on the chim is terrible. I noticed that on the A31 mine was all over the place at 100ish (kph of course...) whereas others had no trouble. Hopefully the new set up will be a vast improvement.

Claire and I are both keen on the 1st Lotus day though and have mailed dave to express interest.

tea -> keyboard moment!!

From what you told me about Claires driving she should be fine

Is it a complete overhaul with Nitrons? If so I may need to get my wallet out to avoid embarrassment on the POTB run

1stLotus is a good plan but it's four people maximum which could see some missing out.

I know the whole Elise thing is abotu power/wieght ratio but surely just taking your wallet out wont make that much difference, or did you just win the lotto?

I just heard that our friends in the S2000 and 911 will be joining us.

This is gonna be like a mini LM reunion!

Class! The plan was to allow all the moths to lift the car a little hence reducing the effective sprung weight.

Excellent!! Simon is coming down to stay with me for that weekend too! Shame the roads down there will not be quite the same as blatting through France.
Have to make sure we all camp together and have adequate bbq facilities to cook bacon on a hub-cap at 3 in the morning
