Does anyone know where you'll be able to see the World Cup matches at Le Mans? I'm not a member of the ACO and am not travelling with any tour operator - am I out of luck?

Arm yourself with a crate of beer and track down one of the bigger Brit groups on your campsite (or any campsite for that matter)

A lot of the bigger groups bring a satellite dish and a large screen TV - this was the case last year and, I suspect, will be much more evident this year!

Offer them the beer and I'm sure they'll let you in!

nip down to Arnage, we went to the bar on the corner (seem to remember a jester logo??) for England vs Germany in Euro 2000 ... which also co-incided with the big race.

was a hoot, 300 people in 100 person bar, coach parks on pavement, passengers clog the windows, people clamber on to its roof, the roof of the house next door fills with people...

best of all the woman that owned the bar was so impressed she went up to the top, opened the attic doors and got her camera out for a picture. A 300 person strong chorus of 'get your t*ts out, Get your t*ts out...for the lads..' ensued. Obviously her grip on English was basic as she proceeded to smile and dance along with the song

One of the funniest memories ever

In the middle of the track, where the Radio comentators are there was a big screen showing the race, which they turned over for Euro 2000 vs Germany, excellent - not sure if that will be the case for Thursday morning though this year....

You bunch of sad bastards you go to the greatest sporting event in the universe and are worried you'll miss finding out what colour that twat Beckham has coloured his hair or if some other tosser's knee has got better and besides they'll be out after the first round...
[/windup]

Sadly they will probably even screen it on some of the big screens..

Cheers
G
(who always though driving round in circles made much more sense than chasing a silly ball)

all sports are the same -

Motor Racing - Men and Women drive cars round in circles for a few hours and the person who does the most first wins!

Tennis - 2 people hit a green ball at each other, and whoever lets it hit the ground twice loses!

Golf - A Person takes 14 metal sticks and hits a 2"diameter ball for 3 miles and then feels relaxed (even I don't understand golf and I play it!)

Snooker - Posh Marbles!

Cricket - A man with a red ball, throws it at 3 sticks in the ground! A man with a bat has to stop red ball hitting sticks in the ground! To make it slightly less boring! The red ball, after it has been hit by bat, must not be caught or hit the sticks! Hmmmn! i wonder who dreamt that one up!

Rallying - Drive from A to B in the quickest time!

Rally Cross - Rallying for lazy people!

Athletics - Motor Racing with out the car!

Marbles - Poor mans snooker!

Football - 20 men chase a leather ball around a park and attempt to kick it into a net. 1 net at each end of the park! The net is defended by 1 man! Give them shotguns and make it more interesting I say!

Yeah, but if England get through the first stage (in 2nd place in the Group of Death) they'll probably be playing France at 12.30pm Sunday – they've gotta screen that surely?
