Official "Staying at home" LM24 2012 thread
Discussion
I caught the latter half of the Group C race this morning, was great to see the old beasts thumping around.
Le Mans 24 mins is on at 13.15 and race coverage build up starts at 13.45 on Eurosport.
Looks like the rain fell rather heavy over there this morning.
In stark contrast, I was at Le Mans a few weeks ago and it was very hot and blue skies.

Quick heads up. Not sure whether it'll be a patch on Eurosport, but the internet channel Drive (the one for which Chris Harris makes his vids) has previewed its live coverage and it looks promising. Their coverage of the Nurburgring 24hr was top notch, and they're livestreaming Le Mans (though not sure whether they've got proper feeds or they're just trackside.) I might tune in for a bit if I get bored of Eurosports ads (although I doubt my download limit could take a 24hr battering!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWIWOxwpan4 , and kicks off at 1, though will probably be pretty americanised.
ETA Nope, no stream of the race, but interesting commentary and interviews alongside, plus a promise of a Harris appearance, so I might dip in and out throughout the race.

At home again this year Didn't go last year to save money for wedding/honeymoon, and decided to do the same this year, post wedding/honeymoon! Otherwise been going since 2003, and will be back next year. Got lots of racing abroad to go to this year still fortunately, but Le Mans is a unique experience.
Last year we tried to replicate the camping experience at home - not easy in a second floor flat! However, my wife wasn't keen on queueing for the shower, and then using it in the dark with no hot water!
Some pics of last years setup...
Cheap supermarket food.
The campsite. I have parked my car just behind the sofa...
Snuck this past controle...
BBQ by the Mulsanne.
We even had fireworks!

Not quite managed the same authentic feel at home here but I've got RLM and Eurosport all set up ready for a weekend of great racing.
That said I'm determined to back again next year as it's been 4 years since I last went to the 24 Hours (and the Classic)

Firstrow appears not to be working and Zonein is down, anyone got any good streams that will work on my PS3? I don't think Eurosport player works on the Playstation...
