Just found this out (same as 2013 I think apart from this year it's Woodcote B instead of A):

Grandstands open on Friday:
- International Pits Straight (covered)
- Woodcote B (covered)
There are no TV screens available on that day.

Grandstands open on Saturday:
- International Pits Straight (covered / TV screen)
- Woodcote B (covered / TV screen)
- National Pits Straight (covered)
- Stowe Lakeside

Grandstands open on Sunday:
- International Pits Straight (covered / TV screen)
- Woodcote B (covered / TV screen)
- Stowe Lakeside
- Section of Club (covered)
- Section of Becketts (covered)
- Section of Village B (covered)

wink

By the sound of the weather reports, we'll be needing as many covered grandstands as possible.

Last time I was at Silverstone was last July for the F1 young driver test. Grandstands almost empty, but assume that won't be the case on Sunday.

The race is on Motors TV but curiously it doesn't look like quali will be broadcast.

Also, it looks like you could sign-up for live streaming on www.fiawec.com.

Qualifying has never been broadcast on the TV, only on the WEC website.

Apparently they have sold a LOT more tickets this year, compared to 2013, so the pit walk might be a lot busier than it was last year and the queue was massive.

Great photos hdrflow, thanks for sharing.

I really want the Porsche to win, but I have to say the Audi is the most handsome LMP1 car (imo of course).

As in the least ugly you mean??? The 'form follows function' looks of current LMP1 cars has taken a few steps too many in my eyes....

(I surely want to be proven wrong be seeing them in the flesh of course.... But on screen , they look hideous!)

I have to agree with vincegail, The Audi has gone from a very nice thing indeed to a very ugly sports car, the Toyota and Porsche are even worseconfused.
I'll find out tomorrow when I will see them in the flesh at Silverstone

Thank you! I quite like the Audi. Toyota and Porsche look really ugly.

Hi guys,

I know this is a bit of a long shot and super cheeky but I really want to go Silverstone to the WEC and I was wondering if any one has a spare ticket going that they don't want or can let me have on the cheap. I'm bit strapped for cash this month.

Thanks,

Ant

Simon Dolan was leading in the Jota, was pushed a little wide by a Ferrari GT coming on to the Hangar Straight, got all four wheels on the grass, hooked back straight across the track and clipped another LMP car, straight in to the concrete wall before the bridge.

No armco or tyres there, car hit it head on. Took around fifteen minutes to get him out of the car, apparently he is conscious though. Impact looked horrendous.

Now I've heard that he is conscious, I'll post a link to a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBaB39jKwdA
