Le Mans and speeding
Discussion
That doesn't work on 80 posts per page - sadly !!1!
Anyway - in the UK - a simple offence such as speeding "opens the door" to numerous other potential offences and *cough* outstanding arrest warrants on occasion ...
Surprised no-one's mentioned this yet ?
Yeah, RIGHT, Kent police's RPU go to France for shts & giggles (and the duty free)!

Slightly off topic (not LM or France) but it gives you an example of different jurisdictions.
In Guernsey where we have speed limits of 20mph and 35 mph the police are pretty heavy on speeding, approx 15 mph over and for a first offence you can expect £200 fine and 1 month off the roads, we do not have penalty points. Drink driving: we have a limit of 35microgrammes per 100 (I think it is mg) if you are double that the fine is £750 and 3 years suspension.

The answer is to take the Plymouth to Roscoff ferry. I travelled the 250 miles plus and never saw a policeman on the way there or back. A couple of cameras which were of no concern because they were signposted well in advance and currently the UK and France do not have an agreement to exchange driver details due to data protection concerns. So it was a blast all the way, roads were very quiet as well which was a bonus.
