Don't bank on it, unless your from a favourable region that is
I was verbaly told by the office a week ago that our 1st choice Grandstand seats were unavaliable so I took the offer of our 2nd choice Grandstand and was told at the time that this was fine, there were enough seats there for as all and they were allocating bookings on a 1st come 1st served basis, but then a week later when I get the bill we're in Grandstand choice number 3 (well grandstand 'I'm not having a seat in there' choice for some of my group)
I imagine it's a tricky job to keep everyone happy, but it's being told one thing and getting another that really winds me up, at the end of the day I pay these peoples wages by being a member

Anyone want to swap 3 Lagashe or Sommer seats for 3 in Masion Blanche?

Got my our confirmation today. In Houx and in Lagache Grandstand(sommer 1st choice).Bus tickets.
I think it makes sense that they look after the Regions that are sorting out trips down there before the independent requests...

I guess my group out of which only 12 TVRCC members want Grandstand seats is probably one of the smaller groups
I just get the feeling some members, depending on your postcode , are more equal than others
It's just people going back on their word that winds me up, I just have too high moral expectations of people I guess

I don't think thats the case to be honest...

I was wetting myself with worry before having booked, as allocating 51 people and 24 cars across different camping and grandstands would be nightmare, epecially, as you've suffered, some have particular preferences. I had everyone in our group promise to call if they got Spring before I did, thankfully my post was good it arrived around 9am last Thursday and the booking submitted before 10:30 after confirming some final details.

As it is, there were only 50 places left in Houx and we needed 51, so we had to juggle that issue.

It probably helps that I work from home for myself too, as the organising took the entire day!

Just got to worry about members of the group cancelling or changing their minds about their options now...

Think I'm gonna need a stiff drink after all this

Rog,

Glad to see you're going again, will have to catch up for a beer again, we all got seperated during our venture up to Tetre Rouge this year!

MB is good, the Surrey region are over there and swear by it as does DustyC.

Got everything we wanted, campsite and grandstand seats. Mind you I have been like a cat on a hot tin roof waiting for Sprint to arrive. Could have been messy as we leave before the post arrives. Thankfully God was smiling on me and I managed to get the booking for our small group faxed over before 10am.

Next year will be even worse I guess.

It's just an inferiority complex you get from having your RO's regional round up 'go missing' even when delivery has been confirmed 3 months in row

Mine too it was in the post Thursday afternoon and it must have been delivered Friday morning because of the phone call 'confirming' my allocation

So the big bold red text on the booking form wasn't strictly true then

All forms to be posted to The TVRCC Ltd, etc, etc.......Telephone/email bookings will not be accepted

don't know why I'm moaning really it's not like it's going to get me any tickets, s'pose it's another year standing with the rabble for us, I know my place
Now the question is do I keep the spare seats and shift them on ebay nearer the date or give them back to the club s'pose it might make back a bit of that £10 sponsership levy I don't seem to remember being asked about

ROs had been asked (on the RO's eGroup) to tell their Le Mans organisers exactly how to submit group bookings, so I just followed those instructions...

This was to inform the club of the large bookings to expect however, as booking were not confirmed until receipt of payment, so we all had to put our faith in Royal Mail

Hopefully anyone who has tickets and then is unable to go will offer the tickets back to the car club so the girls can then distribute them via their reserve list to other car club members rather than selling them on ebay or the like.

Unfortunatly it's the final nail in their coffin for me, I've worked out the only reason I'm a member is to get Le Mans tickets, thats gone pear shaped so whats the point, the national meetings are a running joke, the magazine is a dull read, and I don't need to be a member to go the local meets

I know it's easy to say because our group of 30 (14 Tivs & support van) got the campsite and grandstand tickets we wanted, but just to balance up some of the posts, I think the ladies in the TVRCC office do a very good job re Le Mans ticket allocation in very difficult circumstances and for them it is a pretty thankless task.

When demand far outstrips the supply then it is a no-win situation for the TVRCC. Whatever allocation system you put in place a large % of members will lose out.

Unfortunately the situation won't change until the ACO allocates more tickets to us.

I'd usually be the first to agree that it's a thankless task, but it is their paid job
My biggest issue is being told one thing then getting another, on Friday 7th I was called by the office and told Sommer had sold out, would Lagashe be ok, I said yes thats fine, so was told ok your all in Lagashe, I then told all our members at our regional meeting the following Sunday, and everyone was happy
then a week later we've been bumped to Masion Blanche, what happened during the week for us to lose our seats to someone else?
