It'll always drain in Bleu Nord,Houx and the Annexe (the latter straight down the site into those tents at the bottom wink) but Beauséjour and Bleu Sud can be a problem.

Tertre rouge always stays dry in most places due to it being at the top of a hill, name gives it away, but i hope it is not raining tomorrow afternoon when we join the advance party already there.

Anyone had issues with flooding at TD Porsche Curves? I'm arriving on Wednesday in what looks likely to be a storm, not stayed there before.

If that's on/near BSJ then it could well be soggy..

It's on the other side of the track from BSJ, on the outside of the first corner of the Porsche Curves.

I think the TD site at Porsche Curves is a little bit higher than Beausejour, and quite a bit better drained.

I'm not there this year, but I was there two years ago for the very soggy Wednesday before race weekend

The ground was soggy enough for TD to request most cars parked on the hard-standing near the marquee. However, we were located up by the viewing bank and although we had a small stream running under the tent as we pitched in the pouring rain, the ground was still relatively firm and not muddy.

In 2015, there was an epic rainstorm on Thursday evening which caused some surface flooding, but it was all gone by morning

If the weather looks wet, just make sure your tent groundsheet is watertight so that ground water doesn't get in. Its also worth checking the prevailing wind direction and pitching the tent accordingly - annoying when driving rain comes in through the tent opening

For anyone that is there or getting there in the next few days please update us as to how the weather and any local forecasting is.

We are staying in Bleu Nord so any news as to the state of the field would be great.

Bleu Nord is usually safe, it's the highest campsite so drains very well..

A cheap tarpaulin (bigger than tent outline) to pitch tent on isn't a bad idea - knock tent pegs through it and peg flat to avoid a paddling pool. Also helps to keep mud, dust etc away from entry point and provides a bit of protection for tent as some of sites have had fires and other stuff on ground like nails/glass stones etc. If it's really wet and muddy/dirty on Monday etc the tent is pretty clean to be packed up and folded on it etc and the tarp in a bag for the boot or a bin if really bad.

The current weather forecast has changed three times today, starting out with storms forecast for the race days, then changing to bright and sunny and now showing showers from Wednesday right through the weekend. Que sera sera, frankly.

We look down on all other campsites on TR that is why it is the hardest site to get

We couldn’t get on bsj last year as it was too wet, we ended up in the car park next to expo, sounds like it could be the same again this year.

Whatever the weather, I have just poked my nose outside. 8C it is, and it isn't going to be more than 12C in the mornings all week, so bring something warm. Or, if you look at the forecast, we could ask the ACO to put the race back a week. 28C then.
