Camembert, we have all probably seen the sign on the motorway enticing us to visit there. Always said one day I would so this time
I did. about 30 minutes away from J 15 on the A28 or the D12 towards Le Sap if on the 438. Interesting side trip on the route to Le mans. Lovely countryside. Not much there other than a museum and church and a shop. Museum is 3e50 and includes a tasting at the end in the shop over the road where you are given 3 lumps of cheese and some bread. Some nice apple juice also sold on site. Suggest bring your own lunch as no restaurant as far as I could see for lunch. Can then head south and pick up the A28 or 438 at Gace or Nonant le Pin.

I'm not sure if this route has already been covered off but we usually take the toll down to Rouen (cant miss the tunnel for the noise). From there we set the nav to 'avoid tolls' and head down to Le Mans. This way you save about 50 mins on the toll (not bad for 10 euros) but see some nice villages etc on the rest of the trip. I hope this helps someone and if anyone wants to join our little convoy of two Exiges and a VX220 then that would be great.

From the tunnel I still like the route that misses Rouen.
A28 to A29 and off at Yvetot, there are loos just through the Peage. We go into Yvetot for lunch then ringroad south D131 through the woods and over splendid bridge across Seine eventually re joining A28. Its a nice non motorway break.

This is the route I want to take this year.

My route:

Calais-Yvetot-Bernay-Le Mans with an "avoid tolls" - only autoroute is Calais to Boulogne and Abbeville to St Sean's.

We took a detour round Rouen so we could head over the Pont de Normandie (feckin big bridge at Le Harve!)

If you haven't been over it it's worth a look & then scoot into Honfleur for some lunch - lovely little fishing harbour.

I think it added about 40km to the trip. Nice roads available from there down to Le Mans but it will be quieter so not so many Le Mans cars until you reach Alencon
