The trip home - anybody see any police action?
Discussion
I personally only saw 1 set of police all the way back to Blighty.
Left Porsche Curves this morning and after a few pit-stops for gas, pressure wash and ample quantities of caffeine - about 2 hours into the trip there was a UK plate MG-B passing by me probably doing 150kph. My fingers were twitching at the indicator stalk for a little while wondering if I should catch up and follow at that speed. About 1 mile later all the cars in front braked. Once I got up to the 'scene' of the drama - it was the MG-B now being led away by 2 police motorbikes, one at the front and one at the back.
But that was it - no hidden cars or police in camouflage as in previous years...

I set my cruise control to exactly 130km/h to avoid the sweaty palm moments, but kept my eyes peeled and saw 2 traps and one set of guys being pulled. First trap was by a set of vans that looked like utility vehicles working by the roadside, but there was a tripod and guy standing by it... next one just before Rouen was by a bridge... two guys on Bridge waving as we approached looked like locals enjoying the moving car show, but in the woods next to them was a copper with a radar gun.... then in Rouen I thought I was being pulled as Blue Megane with blue flashing lights came up fast behind me... turns out he was pulling the Porsche behind me... phew.
Saw a blue Porsche scream by us just outside of Alencon and sure enough about 1km along the road, a single police motorcyclist appears from an on-slip and accelerates ahead of us and off into the distance. Moments later we catch up to see that he has been joined by one of his colleagues and they have the blue Porsche between them, guiding him off to the off-slip and onto the "golden lay-by"
Having joined the 750 euro club in 2010, I just put the cruise control onto 130kph and enjoy the journeys there and back.

Early Thursday morning on the A28 somewhere well north before Rouen I spotted a rozzer with a handheld device to the right hand side of the road hiding on a bit of unmade road by a clump of trees.
I was doing 130kph right on the limit. but I did not see any waiting cars further down the road, nor was there any slip roads for them to turn onto the motorway!
Had a run down the A28 after Rouen for several miles with a F40 which was fun, but an ice cream was calling so took a pit stop.

On Sunday evening, about an hour out of Le Mans, was a Police Office hiding on the banking of a bridge with a radar device. Chase bikes were nearby.
Can't speed in a Motorhome, but it appears, Aston Drivers do not understand braking distances when approaching the single lane bridges, was rather hard to stop in time, when you jumped into the space I had left !
Did not see any Police on the way down overnight on Wed.
Overall, I thought there were less police than normal, I wonder if they had been re-deployed elsewhere.

On the way down on Friday saw no Police until about an hour from Le Mans when a couple of bikes went past.
Returning on Sunday to Eurotunnel post-race there were Police at several of the larger toll booths - including as far up as the last one after the fly-over, they appeared to be looking for specific cars though.
Didn't notice any cameras/speed guns but did clock the chaps on the bridge waving that someone else mentioned, also saw a couple of cars flashing warnings.
Only saw one car actually pulled over & didn't notice many UK cars going particularly quickly either - only ones really pressing on were French, Belgium and a couple of Danes.

Had a police escort for 30km on Thursday morning 9-10amish. 2 large vans and 2 small vans in convoy just after joining A28 after Abbeyville, Overtook in 110km section but didn't lose them as lead large van and one small one overtook me at 138kmh in 130 area, 3rd and 4th wouldn't overtake me despite me pulling over 4 or 5 times so stayed in convoy for long while at 136-138k virtually all the time. Nearer Rouen overtook them on the hills and kept below 139kmh but they kept up pretty much in rear view mirror until peeled off behind me near Yvetot route exit. Had thought they were heading off to the driver only police trap area but probably not now reading other posts. Not surprisingly no one came past me except for 2 lead police vans for part of way for a 80kms or so!
Also saw one police motorcycle hidden in tiny slip area on A28 after Rouen.
Saw one police van on way home - a few more cars on D438 to near Rouen and on autoroutes on way back especially as services but roads quieter than classic LMs

On the autoroute on the way back on Monday I was overtaken by a Viper (Fatboy me thinks) who was doing about a billion kph, I had my fingers crossed the old John Dom weren’t about. Didn’t see him again so it looked like he made it back OK. Spotted one trap on the way home and 2 on the way out last Friday. One of them was 2 coppers in full camo, one on the laser gun and one on the radio. Just before we got to them a Ferrari F12, an Aston and a couple of others came past very very fast indeed, didn’t see them get pulled, they may just have got slowed down enough by a BMW I flashed my hazards at. God bless Waze, even though I was on cruise at 130kph.
I didn't see the trap but a number of cars were being pulled from the toll queues at the station just south of Rouen so must have been there.
String of cars at 130-135k and the only one that stood out to me was a 911 making his way through the queue - probably not exceeding 150k though and he was one of the ones pulled over.
French motorways generally now (not just LM weekend) I stick to an indicated 135k and avoid the issue and don't have to scrutinise every bush and bridge for 'snipers'
