AND, if you can get a paddock pass, there is a dress code which, if not followed, will result in not being allowed in!!
Apparently it is smart casual with gentlemen being recommended to wear a shirt and tie !
Artists impression from the official site of dress code suggestion:Apparently it is smart casual with gentlemen being recommended to wear a shirt and tie !
They use the term 'sports chic' which just reminds me of:

Well, according to lowdrag who is local and a regular, "The dress code is observed in the breach". If you're not up on your Hamlet, that means it's generally ignored.Apparently it is smart casual with gentlemen being recommended to wear a shirt and tie !
Stemll, you and Lowdrag may be right. All I did was repeat the directions stated by the organisers.
Frankly, I feel trying the make the Le Mans Classic into a French Goodwood Revival is a bit OTT but, as I do not have a paddock pass, I am unconcerned.
And, the only Hamlet I know is the small cigar lol

Hi, I had originally booked to go to LM Classic with my better half and parents, however at very last minute have had to cancel. I’m still keen to go so if anyone is going on there own/would be happy for me to jump in with them please PM me. Obviously happy to share costs etc.
Thanks
Ben
Thanks

Arrived about 10am this morning. Public camping on Epinettes. Good run down, didn't spot any Gendarmes, just the usual fixed cameras. Quite a few lane closures due to vegetation works.
A bit slow getting into the site. Keen young lassie having a good check for fireworks, multiple gas bottles and bolt croppers. Good on her.
I checked the alcohol situation and she confirmed bottles/glass was okay on the campsite but also said not too much per person.
Came back with a few crates for myself and had no problem. Probably helped I bought them all chocolate flapjacks.
Epinettes still nice and empty, sun is shining and I'm trying to empty the Coolbox.
First time at Classic. Is there anything to do on the Thu or do I just sit here all afternoon rehydrating myself?

I am sadly not looking forward as much as I should be to this trip. because of the insane temperatures predicted. They reckon 32 both days, and that is just too hot for me.
Am hopeful there are some shady areas to watch from.
Am getting there with me Dad tomorrow afternoon, in the yellow area, so hopefully find some folk to natter to. First timers too!

If you want shade watch from Hotel Arbor...its a terrific spot and has walking access to a chicane too. There's a 15 euro entry but you get a drink and a baguette for that thrown in.Am hopeful there are some shady areas to watch from.

Glad im not there myself but only because of the heat.

Whilst there might be an attempt to ask for some form of dress code in the paddocks, I’d say less than 1% observe it. And it would be impossible to enforce anyway. Apparently it is smart casual with gentlemen being recommended to wear a shirt and tie !
