I know there have been numerous 'what rally' threads in the past, but my searching on PH has only really found threads on banger rallies, or really old threads so am after some up-to-date advice - Myself and a mate want to do a European rally next year, and I'm trying to find which one's are best to do as there seems to be so many nowadays, and I want to be careful not to book onto some amateur event and find there's only a few cars going with little to no organisation. We don't want to be doing a banger rally, and don't want to be stretching to the budgets that Cannonball Run / Gumball etc demand, so anyone been on one recently that they could recommend? I know we could just sort out a route ourselves to take in great roads etc and do it cheaper, but we want the fun of going with a bunch of other like-minded people in some nice cars and some great roads. And whilst both of our wives have seemed open to the idea, we want to strike while the iron's hot smile

Am very tempted with Rico Rally, and am close to booking as its in budget, looks good and appears well organised, but just wanted to make sure we weren't missing anything else.

Cheers

Yeah, saw that - probably just showing my age but the thought of being in nightclubs every night doesn't really do it for me anymore, and whilst probably nice to look at, partying with a bunch of hired glamour models doesn't really do it for me either...can't quite believe I said that smile Been researching a bit more tonight and still like the more understated Rico Rally so far, seems to be more about the driving than the partying - will keep looking though

Are you saying that just to be cautious, or do you know something I don't? Google didn't turn up much other than positive reviews and videos. (I'm talking about Rico Rally here, not Pure Rally)

ok I see i thought you was talking about Pure Rally i know Pure Rally had issues back in 2014 that people normal go on about but since the issues it had back then it has over come them.
what issues has reco had ? i don't normal follow other rallies companies as i see it as people just picking points over the rallies people prefer to do

Why not plan one yourself. It's easy with software route planners and Booking.com

The OP says that he's tempted with the Rico Rally... which is 2000 miles in 6 days.

So in answer to your initial question - yes.

So have your rolleyes back.

Same goes for the Rico. Waste of money or at the very least NOT value for money in my very honest opinion.

Hi Guys you could always try this one http://www.rallyforheroes.com/?sid=65164d7318711f9... Been on this one 3 times and going again next year. It's a charity rally so you have to raise £1500 for the SSAFA charity. Cost is approx £2500 for 10 nights away.

The best rally by far is the Atlantic Road Trip.
The best roads in the world covering Denmark, Sweden and Norway and it is 5* all the way.
90% of drivers are Gumballers who are happy to hand over £70,000 for a driving trip and expect top class venues, travel and parties.
The cost of the ART18 is 5000 euro for 2 people. Clearly the best value of any event as well.
Get on social media and search atlantic road trip or art17

How about this -

http://fasttracktours.co.uk/booking/historic-monac...

Got my name down already as have been on a few of their tours before. Each time seeing the same faces on the previous tour and adding the new ones to the next. Says it all really plus maybe an opportunity for a few laps of the track if you fancy it. Dijon and Spa this year we’re both excellent and largely devoid of idiots in old bangers !

Hi guys.
Just had my midlife crisis.
Bought my first ever sports car.
Porsche 944.
Love the idea of a reasonable priced rally or track weekends.
Keep advice and ideas coming.

Only just spotted this thread so sorry I'm late to this one.

We can recommend Petrolhead Tours - tried and tested, always return with big smiles. The main man Pete has been doing this for years and is incredibly capable and reliable. We toured Spain with them this year, Ireland last year and have done European Alps & Pyrenees tours previously too.

Well organised, reasonable prices (not high end and not bargain basement - nicely in between), meet like-minded people, get to use your car as intended, come home with great memories, photos & new friends!
