I’ll be in this, holding up a convoy of cars on Thursday…

You'll be star atttraction with the French. A friend took his to the 24hrs a few years ago and this was a continual stream of French people stood staring at it on the camp site the whole week. I saw one on camping Houx this year attracting similar attention. maybe there aren't many surviving in its homeland.

Should be a nice relaxing drive down with the 5.0 V8 idling at 1500 revs on the autoroute.

I suspect the GTi was much rarer in France back in the day than it was in the UK.

Finally managed to get a car yesterday! Guilia Veloce, not quite a classic but should be suitably wafty for our journey down today.

Well mine is mostly working, still has a whine in the transmission or torque converter but should be ok.... ahem.
She's all clean and stickered up, not sure its the done thing at the Classic but who cares.
The light had gone by the time i finished the stickers but I got a good one after the wash.

Just missed you at the Friday service - you were leaving as I arrived - Mustang looked great stickered up

I did enjoy it - was a nice chilled atmosphere - we were late arriving because we had been watching the group C cars at Arnarge - I do hope they become a regular feature - hairs on the back of my neck listeneing to some of them

Half way. We made it back in one piece. Many thumbs up on our way, which helped a lot to doing the Vmax 55 mph roundtrip. Thanks for that!

What a fantastic weekend. We made it back in one piece, mostly...
960ish miles in the end with no major problems. Lost the oil cap somewhere along the way but didn't seem to make a difference. Also had a rear tyre deform so the tread was like a wave side to side across the tyre! Never seen this before and produced some massive vibrations, popped the spare on and all was good.

Agreed. a good, if very hot weekend in the end. 5pm on Thursday we got a text telling us the Le Havre ferry was cancelled - cue panic - but got lucky with spaces on the Caen boat. I say lucky; we lost our cabins and gained some cinema seats in a room full of farts and snoring with the world's squeakiest door but at least we got there.

Notably busier than last the last three Classics. I guess partly weather and partly the event gaining mass.
